Either this man has never met a gay or lesbian person, or those he has met have been a nasty piece of work. I can only encourage him to get out more.

I think you’re probably being too kind. Never underestimate the power of blind faith, especially when it’s interpreted to suit the person who has them. Lest we forget Iris Robinson, an equally homophobic MP and MLA for the DUP, who was found to be having an affair with the 19 year old son of the woman who’d asked her to look after him and her husband when she was on her deathbed. Whilst the 60 year old was cheating on her husband with a teenage boy who’d recently lost his mother, she was still busy using her political position to tell everyone that young people needed to be protected and saved from the dangerous world of homosexuality.

      1. I live in Belfast and am not British, like those in the DUP claim to be. I know a lot of British people, all of whom appear to me to be decent, fair-minded people. I would like to ask you British people in GB to start applying pressure on those here in the north of Ireland who claim to be British to behave in the decent, fair-minded manner in which my British friends do. Ignoring them because they’re over here and you’re immune from their malevolence isn’t acceptable. If they want to be British, surely it is not unreasonable that they should be expected to behave decently and fair-mindedly and to stop sullying the good name of the British people with their archaic hatred of Catholics, immigrants and gay people? Hit them in the pocket, where it hurts them most. That will soon “learn them a lesson” as loyalists would say..

There has been many a paedophile down the years who have hidden behind a Bible in order to groom their victims. Why anyone would trust an ardent Bible-basher to be around youngsters is beyond me.
