  1. How nice, Patrick Harris agreed publicly to the privacy of Scientologists.

    1. And what *exactly* does Scientology have to do with this article?

  2. Coming out is both a personal and a political act.

  3. Coming-out is both a personal and a political act.

  4. Coming out is a personal experience for everyone and those who live in the public eye, like any of us, should do it when the time is right for them.

Just because they may be a celebrity does not mean that they should come exploding out of the closet.

  5. Fair enough.

But no-one has the right to expect other people to lie to protect b secrets either.

NPH was out of the closet before confirming it.

When papers referred to his status as a closet case he really had no cause to complain.

  6. I couldn’t disagree more. These closet queen celebrities want their cake and want to eat it good. I don’t think so. If you choose to place yourself in the public eye, then you take everything else that comes with it. Including the “bad”. Are these closet queens in Hollywood so arrogant that they would expect people they know to lie for them? But of course this old queen would say something like that. I wonder who he is “protecting”? As long as celebrities “stay in the closet”, they are selling themselves out

True, unless the person is being a hypocrite.

As long as those same closet cases aren’t siding with anti-gay legislators and voting against our rights, otherwise they deserve to be outed.
