Video: Nick Clegg: ‘Equal marriage shows how change can happen quickly when people work together’

The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg gave a speech as he accepted a Special PinkNews Award for work towards equal marriage, commenting on the quick normalisation of equal marriage in England and Wales, but saying that more still needs to be done for equality.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the newly engaged couple James Hanson and Joseph Patrick McCormick, Deputy Editor of PinkNews, as well as MP Stephen Gilbert, who rescued a woman from drowning in the Thames this week.

The Deputy Prime Minister paid tribute to the British people in helping politicians back equal marriage, saying “It shows how change can happy quickly when people work together”.
