    Oh just drop dead already….

  2. Jeeez these christians are sick puppies with sex-obsessed imaginations

  3. God bothering loony makes insane claim based on absolutely no corroborating evidence. This is news because…?

  4. Evil garbage from an evil mind.

  5. It seems to me that in America christianity should be classified a mental illness. Hell it should be a world wide classification.

  6. Milk famously had a relationship with a 16 year old – not a 15 year old, as far as I know. 16 is legal in the UK, for most of the states in the US, it is also 16, so he is calling the laws in the majority of US states pedarists laws.

What he should take into consideration as a christian is that Mary, mother of Jesus was probably around 12 years old when she married Joseph and then had Jesus when she was about 13, so Jahweh (or Joseph if you don’t believe in the immaculate conception) was a certainly a pedarist.

And let’s not forget the holy prophet mohammed was also a pedarist, his youngest was around 12 years old too.

    1. Psst… the “immaculate conception” isn’t the same thing as the “virgin birth”. The former refers to Mary’s state of being “without sin”. The latter refers to the supposed mode of her impregnation. Joseph could have been her baby-daddy without it affecting in any way her “immaculate” state.

Oh lord.. catholic school upbringing rears its ugly head..

Actually Mohammed’s bride Aisha was only 9 when the marriage was consummated.

I have never gotten a straight answer when I have asked what is Islamic policy on pedophilia and polygamy. since the religion’s founder is on the historical record as having practised both.

      1. Most Muslims in the world do not have that practice today and lost it roughly at the same time it stopped in Europe and elsewhere. There where they do it today it is because of the local traditions, which they conveniently justify with supposed historical truth of Muhammed, who like Jesus, probably never existed.

  7. He’s just pissed that he won’t ever get a stamp of his own

  8. pinknews, you should do better. You are just repeating in your article what some homophobic religilous idiot says and you are not offering any information on what actually happened. Why?

  9. With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

  10. He’s using a common ploy, based on two laws that the general population, in the U.S. get confused. At the time of Milk’s affair, the age of majority; the age at which the law considers a young person capable of making decisions for their well being and caring for themselves, which was 16, and the law governing the legal drinking age, which was 21, at the time.

He is much like a firefly; he thinks he’s bright but it’s not the thinking end that’s glowing.

    1. AFAIK the age of consent in Cali has always been 18; in New York where he came from I think it is 17, and it’s about 25 states that use 16 or 17 and the rest 18. However, a boy is gonna do what he is gonna do, and I bet he doesn’t have anyone who claim Harvey raped them as in, had sex with an unwilling person. And regardless of the nitpicking involved, this guy is just looking for anything to smear Harvey because gays are icky…

  11. That’s a serious allegation, I don’t know much about Milk, (besides the fact that he was assassinated) but if any of his family are still around they may have some sort of defamation or libel case.

  12. Only a live person can sue for defamation, Liam. The dead can certainly be libelled with impunity. And in any case this lawyer is not a single lone voice. Ever since the sucess of the film Milk, the rightwingers and Christians in the US have been baying for Harvey Milk’s blood posthumously, branding him as a pedophile. In his early thirties, Milk had a relationship with a 16-year-old guy when the age of consent in CA was 18. People can twist that fact depending on their prejudices either way. Check out various opinions here

    1. Actually, under Scot’s Law, you can be sued for defaming someone who is dead.

Actually that’s an annoying thing about PInk News is you have to log on for EVERY single comment.

  13. Actually in the US the estate can sue if it can proved damages actually flow from the libel or defamation. Harvey’s name is marketable economically valuable and thus if diminished by this claptrap they could sue. The problem I see is that at some point these people attacking him make him more valuable…

  14. Dan Filson 22 Oct 2013, 1:00am

I hope he enjoys licking the back of the stamp as in doing so he is licking Harvey Milk’s too.

  15. It’s not surprising that this kind of scandalous allegation would find new legs, in the light of Harvey Milk’s continued elevated status as a LGBT hero. His detractors are livid at seeing him so elevated (California has set aside Harvey Milk Day to commemorate his memory each May 22nd). Barber has a long history of teaming with other religious loonies to claim that ENDA and hate crime legislation protects pedophiles, and that Pres. Obama is the “enemy within”.

  16. Derek Williams 22 Oct 2013, 10:10am

  17. Of course, we can ALL say things like this after someone is dead without fear of being sued. Cowardly and despicable. But what is particularly saddening is that these words are coming from the mouths of someone who professes to be a ‘christian’. What happened to all that love and compassion their religion’s founder advocated? I think these people are actually sick in the head. They quote the bible but ignore the central philosophy on which the new testament is based. Sick, sick, sick.

  18. Jock S. Trap 22 Oct 2013, 10:50am

Yet more proof, yet another face promoting the True evils of this world… Religion.

  19. “According to Barber, that [Milk having raped boys] has been confirmed by victims who stepped forward.”

And your evidence, Mr. Barber? Provide it, please. Or may I declaim in the media that you, Mr. Barber, are well known to have been raping seven year old girls for the last decade?

By the way, am I the only PN reader who finds the new PN front-page a total bloody mess, and who therefore just looks at the few latest stories listed in the top right corner?

    1. Yes, everything about the new site is a disaster. The stories on the shambolic front page are all over the place.

Every change seems to have made something worse; in particular, the Comments section is hopeless.

You’ can’t see the scores unless you vote, replies are hidden unless you click Expand All, you have to scroll down forever, and the Up and Down votes still largely cancel each other out. The Report flag has also disappeared.

We’re obviously not alone in thinking things are worse because the numbers in ‘Top Users This Week’ have really slumped since these pointless changes were made.

PN obviously has no confidence in its new look because the New Site Feedback isn’t even an open forum.

PN should just restore the previous layouts, and then think about making some sensible improvements, not just having change for the sake of change.

  20. …how does this ridiculous c***t get away with this is beyond me. I mean, does he know for a fact that Mr. Milk actually raped teenage boys? Somehow I believe people are so scared of Gays that they’re make up anything to slur them. Honestly wouldn’t we have been shown this in the film if he had??
