Made In Chelsea newcomer David ‘Miffy’ Mifsud has been accused of writing homophobic comments on Twitter.

According to reports, he posted an anti-equal marriage tweet in May this year but deleted it in time for his debut appearance on the show.

A screen grab of the alleged tweet was posted online by another twitter user. It read “It’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve #gaymarriagef*ckoff”. The same screen grab also showed that Miffy had retweeted a homophobic comment by another user during X Factor last year in relation to openly gay contestant Rylan Clark leaving the show: “Bye rylan you q**er t***”.

The twitter user @LadyHz who made Miffy’s comments public tweeted the screen grab directly at Made In Chelsea, E4, and gay rights charity Stonewall.

The comments have caused concern amongst other Twitter users, who have called E4 into question for putting “a homophobic new cast member” on the reality show.

A spokesperson for the show said: “Made In Chelsea does not condone homophobic behaviour of any kind. We have spoken to Miffy about his personal Twitter account and appropriate action has been taken”.
