A petition has been started to save the Joiners Arms in Shoreditch, East London, after the police have asked for its late licence to be revoked.

According to the petition page, the Metropolitan Police has requested the Licensing Authority to reduce the license of opening late hours of The joiners Arms.

The Joiners Arms opens until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, 3am on Thursdays and 2am every other night.

The petition reads: “Everyone relates Joiners with a nightclub but Joiners is much more than that. Joiners have been always supporting many different artists, diversity, sport and specially freedom.”

It goes on to predict that if the late licence were revoked, and the bar forced to close at 12.30am each night, it would soon lose valuable business and close down.

The change.org petition was signed by over 1,200 supporters at time of publication,
