  3. I think Christie is in the position he is in because he has been aggressively bipartisan. His hugging of Obama during Hurricane Sandy and his clear rejection of the most virulent right wing factions of his party make people think of him as a centrist, and they dearly want the GOP to move to the center…I also think he is less homophobic than this seems, but I could be wrong. NJ is not a right wing state, it’s marginally democratic historically.
