  1. Russia is a Nazi gulag gay apartheid state!

Well done former Eastenders star, Michael Cashman MEP, for having a pointless discussion in the EU talking shop and bravely press releasing it to the gay media.

I am always happy to join your manly struggle to serve Neo-imperialist hegemony!

    Take that Putin!

  2. Not before time.

  3. About time too. Discussion is one thing – action is another. We shall see …

A start at least and I hope it does not stop there. They must sanction Russia and ask Russia for a step by step plan to modernise it’s approach to HUMAN RIGHTS and in particular gay rights.

    1. I don’t think he can take all the credit. The Russian orthodox church has done more than most…

  6. Does anyone at all have any faith in these self-serving bureaucrats? These organizations do little to improve the lives of citizens, while earning hundreds of thousands for their useless employees every year. This is a rigged money-making game, with ineffectual individuals wasting time around tables being paid for meetings that achieve absolutely NOTHING.

This is no different to the UN. It’s all a waste of money and time, and these individuals will achieve nothing at all. They can’t even agree on the wording of statements, let alone anything that actually has any impact on those abusing Human Rights.

I wish I had a job where all I had to do to justify my inflated pay and allowances was turn up and talk nonsense around a desk, just giving the impression that I was actually DOING something.

You will find the video of the EUP debate on Thursday 10 in English on the link above.
Unfortunately there was no motion before the Plenary, so there was no vote, it was a report by the Commission(er) and a statement of the actions they , the EU Commission were taking or about to take. A step in the right direction and in EU terms quite strongly worded. More solid action is though badly needed – continuously and persistently and no visa relaxations for Russia ( or other Trade concessions) until they fully comply with their obligations under CoE and UN Human Rights obligations should be a base line. One speaker directly called for the expulsion of Russia from the Council of Europe and the OECD.
