  1. Britney, she’s so adorable and hilarious,

  2. Please explain how this is controversial?

  3. Please explain how this is controversial?!

  4. Kendall1968 8 Oct 2013, 5:06pm

    Why is this controversy?

  5. she is right we are fantastic

  6. Her statement is being taken COMPLETELY out of context just to get people worked up about stereotypes. If you listen to the full radio interview you’ll hear that she was referring to the gay people on her team (ie:specific individuals) not gay people on general

    1. sorry in*

  7. That’s ironic, because I find the claim the Britney Spears being a talented pop star, ‘hilarious’, too.

    1. **that

  8. Why are you reporting this story like this PN? If her hair and make-up people are adorable and hilarious (highly likely), where is the controversy?

  9. Why are gay some people so keen to take offence over what is a compliment, however banal and superficial it might be. She could instead have said gay men are spiteful and self-pitying drama queens – and she’d have been right about a vocal minority.

as a gay man I feel encouraged and fortunate that there are so many popular and talented – or at least popular and sucessful… – female singers, actors etc – who speak up for gay people to what is always going to be a predominantly heterosexual public. Personally I’m grateful to Britney, Gaga, Madge and – co for repeatedly speaking positively about LGBT people and their rights, and I also think they’ve each released some damn fine songs.

The ‘bitter queen’ act by a section of gay men about Britney and co is truly pitiful. Don’t like her records? Fine. Just stop taking offence at nothing.

You have never heard decent music then…

      Just POP trash.

      1. Dave, you have proved Roberts point perfectly, To regard one form of art as trash just becasue it is not your personal taste smacks of someone very short sighted and bitter. Classics of our day were referred to as popular trash in their day.

The point is she has always been positive about us, why be mean towards her.

  10. Doh…

    I meant ‘some gay people’.

  11. Pinknews, I expect FAR more than to manufacture a controversy out of what is clearly nothing at all. There’s enough going on with LGBT life to not have to stoop to yellow journalism.

We have much bigger issues than worrying what a pop star thinks, even though in this case it wasn’t even offensive. Get out and protest against the Gulf States and other tainted Islamic states, the backward murderous bigots in Christian Africa, the Koch brothers funded maniacs in the “tea party” in America, and Mr fascist wannabe Putin.

  13. Dennis Koch 8 Oct 2013, 7:31pm

I think every gay person knows what she means. Relax, the rest is just white noise.

  14. Dave North 8 Oct 2013, 9:09pm

And the plenty of Christ Fascists here in the UK desiring there ludicrous beliefs to become law.

  15. If we were to focus on really important issues like we do with celebrities lives, I think we could make a better change. (not a stab at you pink news).

  16. There is no controversy tho…

  17. Britney Spears is the ultimate gay icon of all time?! I do not have a problem with Britney Spears at all but the ultimate gay icon of all time?

  18. This story is ridiculous. She said that her team had gay people in and that she finds them funny etc and so on… Why try to cause an issue when there clearly isn’t one. Stop trying to make things like this into a story PN as it undermines genuine homophobia in society and makes the gay community look like trouble makers.xx

  19. Christopher in Canada 9 Oct 2013, 12:48pm

The definition of “Gay Icon” has certainly changed since Maria Callas, Judy/Liza, Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer. It used to stand for something called “talent”.

    I think I’ll go straight now…

  20. Sounds patronizing to me…this silly twat should keep her mouth shut and mind raising her children properly. Calling yourself a b*tch is degrading to women everywhere and reveals her own self-loathing.

  21. How DARE she, f@ckIng BITCH?!

And what is Britney if not herself abnormal and frigging hideous?!!!

Oops, silly me, reading PN without my reading glasses again…

    We LOVE you Brit!!!!

  22. Britney Spears is too stupid for words.

  23. I guess we are lovable toys to Britney.

  24. That There Other David 1 Nov 2013, 7:02pm

She wouldn’t think that if she’d ever met me. I’m completely vile and a right miserable sod.
