  1. C’mon that’s not fair Pink News – the dog was only trying to break it up:)!

The only real news here is that a privileged individual felt entitled to manhandle someone who he felt was an impediment to his publicity. Being gay has nothing to do with it. I note that it took a police caution to produce an apology. If this is the quality of gay role model we have, he’s best ignored and treated as the criminal he is.

    1. I think Iain Dale was a twat but all I can see here is “blah blah blah privilege blah blah blah”.

      Give it a rest.

    2. I agree with you fishwife100, some fat tory b*astard posing as a role model. These tories rode upon the back of the hard work of gay campaigners during the 70s, 80s and 90s, (at the same time decrying all this “nasty gay political nonsense”) yet when it is safe, like wood lice emerging from a kicked log, they scuttle out of hiding claiming they’ve always been gay.

      I hate them

Ironically Dale’s “self-respecting publisher” idiocy has only achieved free publicity for Stuart’s Holmes’ campaign against nuclear weapons. Can anyone remember the name of the book without looking it up?

Apologies grudgingly given aren’t worth crap IMO. He probably still thinks he did the right thing.

  4. I don’t for one beeve this apology to homes to be genuine based on what Dale had previously said about Homes.

Homes maybe a pain but he dont nothing illegal – you simply had no right to put your hands I. This person, period.

I used to really enjoy listening to Iain on LBC but after this assault refuse to listen to him and find disgraceful the station allowed him to go on air the Sam evening – Shane on you LBC.

  5. Stuart’s dog was also caused considerable distress as a result of the altercation. A further apology and maybe some doggy treats are therefore in order.

    1. No not at all as the dog has a human name – Stuart.
I’ve no sympathy at all with anyone that calls a pet by a human name.
      ;)
Now I really must take Cassandra my Bull Terrier for a walk.

  6. ..yes, well understood. Why Mr Dale decided (considering the type of job he has) to have a scrap with a protester in PUBLIC is stupid and regrettable….what exactly was he thinking of? Apart from looking embarrassingly silly what was the real reason? Did he know Start Holmes before???

  7. Who names their dog after themselves, honestly?

    1. That’s my favourite thing about the story. It’s cute.

I would only be interested in this story if Dale had bit the protester in the bum. I would be absolutely riveted if he had then proceeded to sink his teeth into the dog’s arse.

He shouldnt have to say sorry or donate any money as Holmes is a pain in the arse…..during news reports hes there behind the reporter holding up his banner distracting the viewer and in some cases its a story about child abuse/murder which is highly disrespectful….this incident was just waiting to happen and he got what he deserved…no sympathy…..he has the right to protest but there is a time and place….this goes against the views on here so I will await all the red thumbs down

I find it difficult to comprehend what Iain Dale was playing at. An absolute disgrace. He should know how protest works. I cannot fathmom why he should forciblily attempt to stop someone from making a protest. No-one was in danger! What would the reaction have been if the protester was arguing for a gay related ‘right’ and had been treated in this way by someone who didn’t want an interview spoiled? Comparisons would have been made to the current struggle in Russia etc. It is for this reason he should have known better.

  11. The coverage for his bottom feeder publishing deal must be beyond his dreams. Let’s hope it backfires on him and he get’s the sack from LBC.
