Just as leopards don’t change their spots the true blue Tory faithful show what they really think of you and the rest of us Mr Blunt.

I’m sure Mr. Blunt knows why he’s not being endorsed. I think it’s rather obvious, it’s payback by the Tory bigots for his support of the marriage bill.

  3. He has to understand that most Conservatives only pretend that they are not as homophobic as Ukip

  4. Nice try Dave and thank you for what you have achieved for LGBT rights, but no one can make a silk purse out of a sows ear..

All of those ‘aggressive’ Tory back bencher bigots who voted against the marriage bill would love to see openly gay MPs gone forever. Perhaps this is just the beginning.

Henry Kissinger called; he wants his glasses back!

  7. I am not a Tory – still, if you are unfortunate enough to live in this ‘League of Gentlemen’ part of the country, then get out, get leafleting, write to the local paper, write to the party executive expressing your disgust. I urge Labour and Liberal candidates to seize this opportunity, to highlight the local party’s homophobia. Make it a regional and national issue and put the spotlight on the troublemakers who have made this an issue. Are they being put up to this by religious lobbyists??

DM reporting that Boris Johnson might go for this seat – I hope there’s a backlash against him if he does.

Blunts given 15 years service to these people.

Cameron demanded Miliband step in over the Falkirk selection – now let’s see Cameron do something about this.

  9. What the hell did he expect. This is unfiltered Tory behaviour only a lgbt fool would vote Tory

  10. Before everyone gets too committed to the “Save Crispin Blunt” campaign, do check back on his role in the MPs’ expenses story reported in the same Daily Telegraph.

From one Michael to another: that really is a different matter. The local association is entitled to decline to endorse a sitting MP as a future candidate but here the reason is that he’s gay. That is simply wrong. Don’t lose sight of that. Mr Caneron should speak as should the more civilised members of his party, locally and nationally against this with all the force he and they can muster. As ever though: I’m left wondering why anyone would be a Conservative. Lots of folks seem to so I’m clearly missing something.

  11. I think this guy is so much more braver that the rest of us left leaning gays who have been quick to make negative comments here.

Get over it – lots of gay people vote conservative. It is their right. Personally I don’t like it but respect it.

What ever ones political leaning I would like to see all of us support gay Tory MPs, if nothing more than their right to be selected, like everyone else with out sexual orientation being an issue. I accept it is harder for the Tories because of the socially conservative vein runs through the right. But I think we are naive to believe that it is all rosiey on the left. In my experience the left homophobes are more devious – they say all the right things in public then use their positions of power to slow down the march for equality. Leftish Union bosses in Australia, have been prime examples of how all that works.

  12. You’re gay, what are you doing in the Tory party anyway?? Go the whole hog, let this show you exactly where you stand. As a long-standing and respected member of the party while being gay you are viewed as less than the last backbencher. What does this tell you?

Mr Blunt has been a passionate advocat of LGBT rights in recent years and a Strong supporter of Mr Cameron’s Commitment to legalise equal marriage in England and Wales.

Time for Mr Cameron to step in and Publicly declare his 100% Support to Mr Blunt. And also to Oust the Nasty Vipers that orchestrated this Which-hunt against Mr Blunt purely because of his sexuality. This Is Not Acceptable … And How Very Dare They Shun The Rule Of Law.
