A gay man murdered his partner with an antique mannequin, a court in Sydney has heard.

Daniel Savic, 30, is due to be sentenced for the murder of Michael Goh, 57, later this year.

AAP reports the 57-year-old was found dead in the back of his antique shop in Sydenham on 29 September 2011.

The Supreme Court in Sydney heard police found several items near Mr Goh’s body including a blood-stained antique mannequin with human hairs attached to its metal base, blood-stained broken mirrors, broken wooden coat racks and a pair of blood-stained pliers and several Phillips screwdrivers.

Crown prosecutor Chris Maxwell said the knife Mr Goh was accused of picking up had never been found.

“What we have is an onslaught that can only be consistent with an intent to kill,” Mr Maxwell told the Supreme Court on Monday.

The prosecution questioned the reality of Savic’s testimony. Earlier, Savic said he “lost it” after Mr Goh tried to get him to take part in a sexual activity he was averse to and then Mr Goh picked up a knife.

He will be sentenced on 8 November.
