  1. That’s interesting news. Dan’s been an outspoken supporter for GLBT, and other humanist rights. So good man for the role.

    1. Bonnie Langford playing Freddie Mercury would also be interesting and possibly amusing but it wouldn’t be good casting for a biopic.

  2. According to an unnamed source in The Daily Star!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well done Pink News!

  3. Sorry but this article is badly written!

On the other hand, if the story is correct it could be interesting.

  4. You have got to be kidding.

  5. Here is the actor who should be playing the role – he was amazing as Freddie in – BBC drama The Best Possible Taste – same heritage as Mercury – JAMES FLOYD –

But he isn’t a ‘Star’ so some ‘Name’ will get it make a pigs-ear of it and ruin a potentially great idea for a Bio-pic.

Daniels a great actor but I dont think hes quite right for this role…..there has to be someone out there who can do Freddie justice

  7. Not seeing to be honest, love Daniel but I don’t think this role is for him

  8. The obvious choice for this would be Mika. I don’t know if he can act but he has the voice.

  9. Maybe this story is just to keep the project in the news. I can’t see him in the part.

The original idea for the movie was financially sound – the life of a big star portrayed by a big star- even if it might have only got an 18 release due to the sex .

From what I have read (which may or may not be true) Queen wanted the film to tell the story of the band while Sacha Baron Cohen wanted it to be the story of Freddie Mercury. No matter how big any band is their dramatised story is usually boring except to fans or afternoon TV watchers.

Theo James could be another possible contender.

    1. Also since Baron Cohen has written and produced his movies it should have been obvious to Queen that they were not simply hiring an actor just to play a part.

  10. I don’t think I could bear watching Daniel Radcliffe as Freddie, please no!

  11. If he’s so supportive of gays, why doesn’t he come out of his closet? I mean does anyone seriously think this kid is straight? If so, I have a bridge to sell you.

    1. You have demeaned all heterosexual people who treat homosexual people as equals. Stop it.

      1. Well said Eddy, but nothing at all will shift jafuf from his exasperatingly tiresome belief that all actors – indeed, all men no doubt – are actually gay or at the very least bisexual.

(You can see how he’s ended up with a bridge he’s trying to sell.)
