Because it’s much more believable that the gays caused the floods, and not climate change. Right.

    1. No, it’s misinterpretation of Jesus’ message by crackpot bigoted pastors that
caused the freak flooding in Colorado, it’s just common sense.

  2. *Decadent homosexuality* to blame for the Colorado floods?
Phew! For a moment there I thought he was talking about normal homosexuality, which is perfectly natural.
    Silly me.

  3. I blame fundamentalist neo-nazi Christians for the flooding.
GOD is angry that they are perverting the bible and its message. He sent the floods to warn those Christian fundamentalists that He is not pleased with the way they are taking his name in vain, using His name to promote their hateful agenda.

    See how easy that was?
One need only turn around and spew the same garbage back at those neo-nazi fundamentalists.

  4. Isn’t it funny. All the places these ‘god whisperers’ claim are tragedies caused by god because of ‘immoral sexual acts’, end up hitting largely conservative areas/states
Droughts in Texas. Floods in South Carolina. Storms in Florida. And even within the states they hit. like when the hurricane Katrina hit multiple areas, it somehow managed to miss the more gay friendly areas, and knock out the backward homophobic parts.
God must have one lousy aim.

  5. What they don’t seem to remember is that God still created them so if God didn’t want people to be gay he wouldn’t have made them that way. Climate change is to blame not homosexuality.

  6. “This last year we walked in lewdness, lust, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties.”

Yep. I think that pretty much sums up the private lives of many homophobic evangelical pastors.

    1. Actually, it makes my own life – the odd glass of wine too much aside – seem distressingly tame. If lewdness and revelries, not to mention lust, are part of my rightful identity as a gay man, I hereby demand more of ’em!

  7. “Punishment for the Decadent homosexuality behavior”.
Totally agree Pastor. So stop protecting & hiding the evil men that can’t keep their hands off choir boys.and leave the normal moral gay men and women alone to there happy loving lives

  8. What a complete and utter nutter!

    That is all.

  9. Another pink news anti-US story….

An unknown US pastor with about 2 listerners is anti-gay, whilst in other news…… in the middle east gay men are imprisoned, tortured and murdered by their own governments.

Get some perspective pink news and start reporting stories about what is actually affecting gay men in the world instead of these google search cut and paste stories. Pathetic journalism.

    1. The “unknown US pastor” has obviously hit the news somewhere. If it’s so important to you, why don’t you submit reports of what’s happening in the “middle east”?

  10. Just remember, when we’re all simultaneously horrified and amused by the lunatic babblings of Muslim and other fanatics in less-developed parts of the world, that this superstitious drivel is coming from one of the richest and most developed countries in the world.

    Depressing really, isn’t it?

Good and valuable comment, Rehan !

    2. Scott Rose 21 Sep 2013, 2:59pm

It’s coming from fly-over country, not the richest and most developed area. They tried to do away with dumbassed hicks through public education, but the Jesus brainwashing works against it.

  11. This is absolutely ridiculous, and an insult to Colorado as we battle not just the floods, but the whole mess with fracking leaks because of them.

  12. Christopher Coleman 20 Sep 2013, 9:53pm

The flooding in Colorado seems to be something that happens occasionally.. I read earlier in the week that the local Native Americans told early settlers that the site chosen for Colorado Springs was unsafe, because it is prone to devastating flash floods flowing down from the Rockies. Used to happen long before fundamentalist Christians came along and brought their version of God with them.

    1. Flooding here has actually been a rarity until this summer. We’re in the “high desert”, with very few bodies of water – and even the ones we have are quite small. It’s absolutely mind-boggling as to how this level of flooding occurred. :-(

      1. Christopher Coleman 21 Sep 2013, 6:48pm

The devastating flooding was always known by the Native Americans to be very occasional, but a real threat nonetheless. The desert nature of the soil causes flash floods in all the Southwestern states and if the rain is really heavy there are problems, as in Palm Springs, California a few years ago. If the rain is heavy *and* persistent, then there is large scale damage even in high desert areas. Truly sorry that Colorado is having such a bad time of it right now.

So many natural disasters… So many sins… Must… Pick… One… to blame for the other.
I personally blame the snowstorm last March for my sin of gluttony that day.

  14. I was beginning to worry our immense power was failing, phew, I can rest now.

What a totally head and probably closet case, twisted up inside.

  15. Helge Vladimir Tiller 20 Sep 2013, 10:53pm

Right ! We are gay and beautiful , and we know how to love ! In fact – we are so HOT that the temperatures on this Globe have been rising dramatically over the last decades–giving more and more rain and disasters. Storms and hurricanes. WE are HOT !

    1. Helge Vladimir Tiller 21 Sep 2013, 2:58pm

And in addition : The friction betwen lovely gay and lesbian bodies, which usually is extremely deeply rooted, also adds to these rising in temps.—Lovely !

      1. “The friction betwen lovely gay and lesbian bodies”

No, it probably causes earthquakes. We sure are badasses, even our sexual intercourses shake the continent plates !!

  16. The “godfather” of televangelism list of crackpot whopper statements.

  17. The “god” these people imagine is mean, small-minded, petty, vindictive, cruel, savage and utterly psychopathic…

Which, given the dogmatic junk they preach, is about right.

It is, of course, also a projection they make so that they can encourage the thick-witted sheep who believe in their drivel to reach deep in their pockets to help fund the “fight” against us evil LGBT people (while, somehow, not explaining why an omniscient superbeing needs them to write a cheque to do something it could presumably take care of with a few well-aimed lightning bolts).

No, I will not respect the sheep, nor the avaricious and utterly mendacious shepherd classes who fleece them at every opportunity.

  18. So your god cares more about people being gay than murder, rape etc…? Interesting. Perhaps it’s due to all the divorce? Most of your republican buddies seem to have had at least one.

  19. Christopher in Canada 21 Sep 2013, 12:58pm

Meanwhile, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal have yet to be hit… figure THAT out!!!

    1. Helge Vladimir Tiller 21 Sep 2013, 3:06pm

Just you wait ! – Armageddon is weeks ahead of you .But never mind, we are born to love. Enjoy it.( I love Toronto, my best friends live there.)

  20. US Evangelists love their ‘Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc’ fallacies don’t they?

Corrolation isn’t causation, and that’s even assuming they can demonstrate their rageaholic destructor god actually exists.

But if they insist all natural disasters are caused by their God’s problem with teh gays, here’s one news story they might have trouble explaining…

  21. He’s wrong. It was me. I am SOLELY responsible for the said floods.

  22. I thought all the bad things in the world were down to the devil? Isn’t that how monotheistic religions have traditionally explained away the cruel actions of a supposedly ‘loving’ god. So now, gay people are the devil? These nut jobs really do need psychiatric help.

  23. I think it unreasonable to attack this guy’s choice of religion as we should all be accepting of others’ lifestyle choices. However, his method of practicing is bizarre and almost looks like real mental illness – linking a climatic events to what gender genitals people like to touch.

The main message I take from this guy is that it should be illegal to teach religion to people under the age of 18.

    1. That’s if he really, really believes what he is saying. You have to wonder if these preachers know full well that they are spouting manure but exploit any example of shock suffering to convince their ‘flock’ that loathing gay people is perfectly fine and Christian because they cause FLUURRRDS, etc.

  24. This lunacy will go on for decades, if not hundreds of years yet. (especially if there is money in it). Remember there is still a Flat Earth society in existence.

  25. Love this, hey guys… where shall we send the next floods?

  26. Note that they do not make similar statements when tornadoes regularly shred the Bible Belt states…

    1. Christopher in Canada 22 Sep 2013, 12:46am

Actually, they do. A Lutheran minister in St. Louis, Missouri was quoted as blaming a tornado on the gays a couple of years ago… I sent the idiot an email, as his church’s e-address was included in the article, and got a reply from one of his minions that included a note from him on how word had gotten out about what he had said. I’ve blocked his name from memory… he was blond, that’s about all I remember now…

  27. i welcome the day when there is no more religion in this world, it holds us back in so many ways, it has killed more people than cancer we should be out in space exploring it and we would have been , had it not been for religion

  28. Darren Yehuda 25 Nov 2013, 11:54am

True, some liquids are created during sex…but hardly enough to flood a whole state!
