In my opinion, blue plaques are for after the death of the person concerned to allow history to settle.

The trouble is, Stephen is one of our unsung heroes who has never been given the recognition he deserves in the so-called gay community. And there are lots more like him. So isn’t it better to show some appreciation for him while he is still with us?

    Police advisor or collaborator? Kapo.

    1. Voluntary Independent Police Advisor (not collaborator…never that) and years of painstaking hard work, especially in the early days when the police didn’t want to listen.

I am voting for Stephen Bourne – for his huge literary output, documentation of black and LGBT history and his work on tackling homophobic hate crime. He’s done great work. Unsung and very deserving.
