So sad for Wentworth and anyone else that has had a difficult journey. All credit to him now for speaking out.

  2. It has to be said that, without the anti-gay conditioning of religion, many more young lives would be saved. Every time some religious nut-job claims being gay is a ‘sin’, some kid somewhere (a) takes it as yet another reason to self-hate and (b) another kid takes it as a licence to be a homophobic bully. We have to call an end to ‘belief’ being allowed to incite hatred. Belief must never again be allowed to cause the pain and anguish to gay people for which it has, for so long, been repsonible.

  3. Wow, never would have thought he would have succumbed to those urges. I’d be lying if I said I never considered it myself at that age! Strange how we all seem to get the same message that we are not wanted; and yet nobody is ever held responsible. Here’s to a better world ! Where being gay will be more reason to end your life than being left handed !

    1. no more reason*

    2. It’s because ‘religion’ is responsible … and ‘belief’ appears to be one of the untouchables. No-one seems to want to answer back or challenge them. Without religiously-inspired homophobia there would be no homophobia.

We’re all glad that he was strong enough to get through it :-) He’s an inspiration to thousands of kids out there!
