    Odd that this former French colony criminalises homosexuality (not a legacy of the French either) while allowing hetero polygamy.

    What a peculiar u-turn, I’m sure this will outrage many… the fact that Kaba admitted this freely is astonishing. Just goes to show that human rights organizations can have leaders who don’t take gay rights seriously… this may explain lack of progress in this area. Either that or Senegal isn’t as democratic as I’ve been led to believe by the media, and he’s been forced to renounce his former beliefs by the President. The Economists’ Democracy Index needs to be revised heavily.
