Photos: Thousands protest against Russia’s anti-gay laws at London’s Whitehall

A protest against the treatment of LGBT people in Russia is currently underway in London near the official residence of the Prime Minister David Cameron in Downing Street.

The Day of Action – Love Russia, Hate Homophobia – is currently taking place opposite Downing Street on London’s Whitehall. The rally feautred speeches from human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, and All Out’s Director of Campaigns in the UK, Marie Campbell.

Earlier today, the Foreign Office confirmed that David Cameron will raise the legislation, which bans the promotion of “non-traditional relationships”, with Putin when he travels to St Petersburg this week for the G20.
