  1. Excellent judgement, parents do not have a right to abuse their children, whatever their beliefs.

The 9th District Federal Appeal Court held -
“….. the ban did not infringe on the fundamental rights of parents because parents do not have the right to choose a specific type of provider for a specific medical or mental health treatment that the state has reasonably deemed harmful.”
It was also held not to impact the freedom of association or freedom of speech but to regulate a harmful practice.

    Sanity prevails.

    Good.

  3. Yaaay !!!!!!

  4. I commend the US: Appeals Court for very informed and logical ruling…. now if the same Judges could advise Putin: Gay cure therapy has been deemed harmful! and should not be a “Voluntary” but a regulated harmful practice.

  5. Good to see that the judges have used common sense and also researched that this so called therapy is not effective.

Sexuality is not something that can be changed, no matter how much the GOP & religious nutters bleat on that it can.

Shouldn’t ‘religious brainwashing’ be outlawed under this ruling too? After all, being exposed to religion at a young age, in my opinion amounts to abuse. It is mental ‘indoctrination’ and can have devastating long-term consequences – particularly if the child is gay.

Everyone who has suffered and survived corrective therapy should sue their practitioners for fraud and malpractice. Their therapy is a fraud, nothing else.
