Any school with such a bill should have it instantly removed and stop discriminating against children…. full stop!

  2. I lived my teens though Sec28 and felt isolated and fearful of my feelings. What the hell is going on in these schools.

If Stuart is saying “it looks as if schools have just copied that wording from years ago, before Section 28 was revoked, rather than with any deliberate intent”, then I very much doubt that is the case. Sloppy oversight by the DfE in my view.

I can’t believe that those running free schools are not aware that Section 28 was repealed. Could it be these schools are run by religious nutters?

  4. If it transpires that some schools have deliberately held on to the odious Sec 28 because either they didn’t know it had been repealed … or because of ‘religious belief’ …. the heads should be sacked. There is simply no room for discrimination – of ANY form – in today’s society. If you allow this sort of marginalization to continue, you end up with the kind of victimisation now taking place in many parts of Eastern Europe. Homophobia MUST be eradicated once and for all … and the process HAS to begin in schools.

  5. Micjhael Gove needs to be held to account.

  6. The DfE concern about Section28-style school policies was reported on BBC radio news at 1pm

    1. The BBC TV News though, as usual with gay matters, totally ignored it.

Maybe Graham Stuart should investigate christian millionaire Lord Robert Edmiston who founded a charity called Christian Vision and is also on the board of governors of these schools. He was one of the most abhorrent opponents of the Marriage Bill and another of those slippery slope tossers citing incest and polygamy as a reason to stop the bill from passing.

  8. “Labour got rid of Section 28 in 2003 to ensure that schools taught about homosexuality in an open and honest way.”

Baloney! Labour never ensured kids even hear the words gay or homosexual at all. Sex Education was and is STILL not LGBT inclusive, which is why HIV infections are climbing in the community.
I didn’t even know what gay was until I was 18 and at College so Labour failed horrendously.
