Welcome to the club, New Zealand. I hope that this will influence the lawmakers in Australia to introduce same-sex marriages on a federal scale there.
New Zealand is going to be one of the few countries we will be welcoming with open arms in Glasgow next year.

    1. Welcome to the club, New Zealand? Do remember that New Zealand passed same-sex marriage legislation well before it was passed in the United Kingdom and without half the hatred and rancour that was experienced in the United Kingdom.

It would be more appropriate to say “New Zealand, we in the United Kingdom much look forward to joining the club!”

      1. Lets just agree, neither countries are as bad as France!

  2. cheers. in the USA the protestant haters claimed that the NZ earthquake was because god was mad re the civil union thing in NZ

The arseholes of Jesus got their due – God supports now real marriage for gay people

  3. Happy day for New Zealand same-sex couples but a very sad day for Australian same-sex couples. Also, looking like a Conservative landslide in the September 7th election here in Australia which will mean increased homophobia from all those right-wing forces that despise us.

  4. Well done NZ, especially for enabling the first ceremonies to take place so soon after equal marriage passed into law.

  5. I cannot wait for my big part next years, on our 5th civil partnsership anniversary, we will get married. Congrats girls, congrats New Zealand…did I mention we are moving to new zealand in September next year? yeeeeeyyyy…Our marriage will be valid there.

    1. Pity it won’t be legal in that part of the UK called Northern Ireland or Ulster!!!!!

      1. I’m totally with you on that John, it is disgusting really.

A beautiful day for all the happy couples in New Zealand. Well done!

Still no indication of the date our own marriages will take place, hopefully before July 17, 2014 a year from the date before the law was passed. An absurd amount of time we have to wait regardless.

It is a most sickening picture to look at – same-sex marriage is an abomination.

    1. You need psychological help, Mr/Ms Morrison.

      Quickly!

    2. Wow. Seeing two happy people makes you feel sick.

When you think of all the things in the world to be sickened by, it’s rather telling that you choose to be sickened by an image of two people making a commitment and declaring their love. Sad.

    3. So you just happened to stumble accross this website and the photo by mistake right….. what are you doing on gay websites if you think it’s such an abomination?

  12. Beautiful couple and congrats !
