Blimey, something positive from the BBC! About bloody time!

A dutch sports commentator in last night’s news also almost mumbled “Well, that’s *her* opinion” after showing the speech. This was quite unprecedented, as this was the news (not a sports commentary program) and he’s really expected to be very neutral. I was very happy to hear him say it, though.

  3. is there a clip of this anywhere?

  4. Reality check. The rest of the world ain’t Sweden. Are gay people having such a great time in India and China? That’s almost half of the world – not to mention most of Africa and the Muslim world.

  5. Presenter Gabby Logan was very clear in her disgust at Isinbayeva’s comments. I was a little surprised the BBC even mentioned the comments but I got the impression Logan deliberately chose to introduce it. Her anger was apparent.

well said Denise Lewis and Michael Johnson. If True world Icons such as them speak out then maybe people may just sit up and listen. It really is unbelievable that in this day and age, countries, (not only Russia) and individuals can get away with spouting such propaganda. The “Real World” needs to make the voice of sanity heard.

  7. I think “the rest of the world” needs to mind their own business. Isinbayeva said what she thought (and I agree with her) since when having a different opinion from “the rest of the world” is against the law? Is it Spanish inquisition times? Do you offer to burn her cause she’s anti-gay?

    1. I think you need to mind your own business, back under your rock crusty
