  1. A few years ago Hollywood produced a movie about how some Americans stole an Enigma machine from a U-boat and consequently won the war. I don’t think that accuracy is one of their top priorities.

    1. The English narrative is no more accurate than the American. While Turing’s genius is beyond dispute he did not crack the enigma code. He merely perfected the device and technique developed by the Polish Cipher Bureau in 1932 and gifted to British and French military intelligence on the eve of WWII in Warsaw. Naturally the decryption became harder to achieve as enigma code became more complex and advanced over time. I wonder whether Julia Turing would argue for the inclusion of this fact in the movie in the interests of historical accuracy??

      1. “merely” lol

    2. Ahhh Hollywood, the Ministry of Truth at its finest.

    3. Hollywood can’t even remain true to fiction let alone reality. Two gay love stories that were described in the book Captain Corelli’s Mandolin were completely erased from the film.

  2. What this production company is doing with Alan Turning’s legacy reminds me of the Mormon practice of baptizing popular atheists posthumously.

  3. It’s Hollywood, not a documentary. LA-LA Land isn’t known for its accurate portrayal of history, especially where the hero isn’t American. Alan Turing was undoubtedly a great man, Hollywood can’t take that away from him.

  4. Thanks to Julia for letting us know. Perhaps we should give this Hollywood film the cold shoulder if the producers have made-up a fictitious story using Alan Turing’s name. He’s not alive to be able to defend himself and no doubt the producers will go all out and make it appear that Alan had a wild sex life and flaunted his sexuality to all. If so, it will only give out the wrong message about Alan and lead some people to think that he brought his punishment on himself.

He’s already a victim of state persecution. He shouldn’t be made a victim twice over.

  5. I agree with every point made there.
It’s disgraceful and grossly homophobic that the director is sanitising Alan’s life to make him straight.

Is there a reason why the film is 3 hours long though?
I think i’d be bored of any film after that long

Boycotting the film, +1 if you are too

  6. I applaud Julia Turing. She presents very valid and justified reasoned concerns against Hollywood making this biopic.

I am not a fan of Hollywood for my movie choices.

One only has to look at how many British series have be “creatively rewritten” to appeal to American audiences. Why? if the original intellect, content or humor or dialogue is not understandable how can you take creative liberties to interpret it fairly or do it justice… hence many British originals have been abusively destroyed.

One has to wait and see! but I don’t hold hope this will do justice to Alan Turing’s genius.

Let’s see… Hm! camera pulls back from Alan Turing in bed… Unfinished apple on the night table! cut! got to student typing thesis on Apple product imaging Alan Turing’s life.

Now we have Americanized it.. implied the father of the modern computer has an Apple connection.. the younger audience now connects, shows interest.

That’s what we see from Hollywood, falsehood and liberties.

  7. Sounds like the movie will just be more Hollywood slop bearing little resemblance to reality, what a wasted opportunity.

  8. I regret having to ask, but who is Julia Turing, and what is her relationship to Alan, if any. I have been unable to find this with a rudimentary search, and would have thought it relevant to the article.

    1. I’m not sure Don. I’ve done a quick search on google but haven’t found what her connection is to Alan. However, on an encyclopedia brought up in the google search, it mentions that Alan’s father was ‘Julius Mathison Turing’. Perhaps Julia was named after him?

On the following site, a ‘Julia M. Turing’ leaves a comment about Alan. Perhaps she is Julia Mathison Turing, after Alan’s father.
      http://www.polarimagazine.com/features/turing-centenary-london-science-museum-exhibition/attachment/alan-turing-science-museum-vitamin-b12/

So, she appears to be closely related! Perhaps she is Alan’s niece.

      1. She certainly wishes to APPEAR closely related, without voicing any claim or offering any evidence of same. The photo (whoever it may be of) does bear a strong resemblence to Mr. Turing, but I’m just a bit skeptical. Alan had no children, and his only brother had only daughters, so would not carry forth the Turing surname. Cousins? possible, but
one would expect the Mr Turing.author to offer some evidence to support her claims of personal knowledge of

        1. correction:
one would expect the author to offer some evidence to support her claims of personal knowledge of Mr Turing.
          Damned laptop keyboard

      2. Julia Mathison Turing is NOT related to Alan M Turing in any way. The name on her birth certificate is Julie Anne Schwinghamer and she is posing as a relative of Alan M. Turing. In the late 80′s, she changed her name to Julia Mathison Turing. She currently also uses the name Julia Evig and Julia Von Evig. In the 80′s, she went into the Cambridge University Archives and REMOVED many of Alan M Turing photos, certificates and diplomas without permission and continues to have these in her possession. Not good!

        1. How does a person walk into Cambridge Archives and walk out with all you are falsely accusing Julia Turing of doing? Why was she not arrested on the spot walking out with all this stuff??? you are ludicrous-out of your mind!

        2. How does a person go into Cambridge Archive and just walk out with all the stuff you are falsely accusing Julia Turing of doing? why wasn’t she arrested on the spot? Where is your proof? You are ludicrous out of your mind jealous of her to go after her in such a nasty way. What is your problem!

    2. Turing’s brother John did have 3 daughters, born in 1936, 1940 and 1947, but their names were Inagh Jean, Shuna and Janet Ferrier respectively. Perhaps this Julia is one of the latter two?

      http://www.mit.edu/~dfm/genealogy/turing.html

      1. Whoever she is, she hasn’t returned to offer any clarification. Perhaps nothing more than the latest incarnation of the “Turing Test”

        1. Dear Don, Yes she does exist and have many accomplishments to her name as Ms. Julia Mathison Turing. She was awarded the 1990 Army athlete of the year, broke numerous track records as a world class runner, ranked in the top 10 and competed in the 1992 US Olympic track & field trials but a broken foot prevented her to compete well. She built 2 computers, the AL-2000 and the AL-9000 in 1985 in honor of Alan Turing’s work on thinking machinery. She worked under TS clearances in code and decoding as an officer in the US Army during the war in Iraq. Just because Google has little to no info. on Ms. Julia Turing doesn’t mean she has not existed for over the last 50+ years and contributed a great deal to humanity quietly. I guess Google does not know everything!!!!

          1. Julia also claimed to have apprenticed with me in pipeorgan building. She did not! I would love to see your sources as to her claimed accomplishments.

    3. Julia Mathison Turing was born Julie Ann Schwinghamer and is an obsessed US Fan who has spent most of her life following in his footsteps.

      1. She changed her name when she was a young girl because she was, as you say, ‘obsessed’? so what’s it to you if she is? why are YOU so obsessed with smearing her name and good character with lies? She served her country honorably in combat in Iraq while you were sitting on your —-. It’s her right to admire and be ‘obsessed’ with Alan Turing and follow in his footsteps if she wants to. Why don’t you get a life!

  9. Julia Turing, you are a ridiculous hypocrite!! Can’t believe you would complain about the producers exercising artistic licence and in the same breath come out with such grandiose hyperbole such as Alan “saving Western civilisation from Hitler”! It is clear you have your own agenda just like the production company.

    1. I think producers have been using their “artistic licence” to cleanse, censor, demonize, de-humanize or heterosexualize LGBT people and the truth about LGBT people for far too long now !

TV and Film done nothing to help LGBT people, it done much more damage than you realise; it acted as a mirror of society AND taught the people what to think, a very bad situation for LGBT people where the prejudice riddled industry have such “artistic lisense” for so many years.

.Have you seen the Celluloid Closet? They turned LGBT people into laughing stocks, psychopaths, deviants, maniacs or depressants and influenced generation after generation of people to fear and hate LGBT more than they already did ! No education at school what-so-ever, they only learnt from their television and their prejudiced parents; a fatal mix for minorities.

    2. I agree. Translation of this piece: they should have asked me and paid me. They didn’t and I’m mighty pissed.

    3. Not only is Julia Turing a hypocrite, she is a fraud. Her born name is Julie Anne Schwinghamer and she is posing as a relative of Alan M. She’s more than a hypocrite.

      1. James Campbell 24 Dec 2013, 2:11am

Can you let us know the source of the information relating ot the removal of items from the university archives? I attended Cambridge and access to the archives is strictly limited.

        1. There is no record of Julia ever being at Cambridge Archive. There is no way she could have gone in and then just walk out with all the things this Pocdino is claiming and not get caught and arrested. If any of these outrageous accusations were true why hide behind a fake name? why not give a true name, where this all comes from and a web.site address?

    4. Hay M, If you had not skipped out on your history classes in school and knew just a little bit about what A. Turing did during WWII by breaking the German codes, you would know that what Julia is saying is true!! But since it is obvious you are quite ignorant of history you sound off your IQ level–M for Moron!

  10. There is so much about Turing’s life that make an international role model. Trust movie-making to delete all the interesting history to it into the narrow world of films.

“John Nash was clearly either gay, or seriously bisexual. This was not a secret. He was open about it. He had long relationships with men. Not a whisper of that is in the film [A Beautiful Mind], and I find it despicable. Despicable. Homophobic.” John Nash was clearly either gay, or seriously bisexual. This was not a secret. He was open about it. He had long relationships with men. Not a whisper of that is in the film, and I find it despicable. Despicable. Homophobic.

“Many film-goers thought Ben Affleck’s film Argo gave short shrift to the Canadian role in helping Americans escape from Iran. Former ambassador Ken Taylor helped put that right.” video http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/Arts+and+Entertainment/ID/2281456361/

  11. Dan Filson 15 Aug 2013, 1:56am

I understand Julia’s wish to be loyal to Alan Turing and his memory. But “Alan Turing was also a tremendous athlete at the world class level … If not for a foot injury Alan would have made the Olympic marathon team for England” Really? To what athletic club did he belong – in those days you wouldn’t get a look in for the Olympics if you had not first competed in the AAA championships for an athletic club, and I’m unaware of his track record as an athlete – and when was this supposedly? What marathon times (or for imperial mile distance races) did he achieve? This sounds like family folk lore being inflated beyond its proper measure.

Hollywood can mangle a good story by embellishing it, but so can family members. His intellectual greatness should be the core of any film. The talk of him being a little gauche is not without cause fro what I’ve read, though whether that includes being clumsy I couldn’t say.

  12. People’s lifestories rarely make good cinema without some fictionalising – get over it love. Take the money! (Or is that the crux of it?)

    1. Julia Turing 18 Aug 2013, 10:28pm

      Dear Mr. Wingby,
There is absolutely no need of fictionalizing the true story of Alan Turing since there is more than enough material to make a fantastic, inspiring movie that would bring great credit to your fine country. It is very difficult for me to see falsehoods created to distort the true picture of the outstanding contributions Alan made to the world to an audience who know little or nothing about Alan Turing. Why make a movie about someone if not true?

No, I do not wish a penny or a pence especially for garbage!

      Lovingly yours,
      Julia M. Turing

    2. Julia M. Turing 18 Aug 2013, 10:45pm

      Dear Mr. Wingby,
There is simply a great deal of factual information available to make a fantastic and inspiring movie about Alan Turing’s accomplishments that would shine great credit and honor to his fine country of England. Why create a movie that is full of fictionalizing and distorting the true image of Alan to an audience who know little to nothing about him doing a terrible disservice to both Alan Turing and the audience!

No, I have no wish for a penny or a pence for garbage!

PS: yes, I do know his inner secret life, mind and sensual sexuality, intimately.

      Sincerely,
      Julia Turing

      1. I do know his inner secret life, mind and sensual sexuality, intimately

        How?

        1. J.M. Turing 19 Aug 2013, 10:02pm

Interviews with people who knew him and other sources.

          1. I seriously doubt you can credibly claim “intimate” knowledge – let alone of anyone’s “secret, inner life” – from second-hand reports.

  13. So this self-appointed expert wants them not to put in ‘fictitious’ sex scenes, because she doesn’t know about his sex life.

Would a film about Alan Turing leaving out any mention that he was a sexual being, and a gay one at that, be an accurate portrayal of him as a whole person?

He would never have come to be tortured by the state in the way he was, had it not been for a real and active sex-life. Of course there’s little evidence of exactly what sex he had, so it’s obvious that the film-makers have to make some stuff up to get a fully rounded picture of the man. That’s the difference between a feature film and a documentary.

This lady would have him characterised as an asexually limping Olympian single-handedly winning the war. Not a movie I’d want to see, and probably far from the real truth anyway.

    1. Yes but we know, for example, that he had sex with a young man he picked up who robbed him — that’s how he ended up being convicted for homosexuality. There is no evidence (as far as I know) that his relationship with a woman friend to whom he was briefly engaged was sexual, and even if it was it certainly wasn’t an important part of Turing’s sexuality, given how relatively open he was about his homosexuality. To straightwash, so to speak, someone who was possibly not even slightly bisexual is taking extreme liberties, wouldn’t you say?

  14. You all realize this isn’t true, right? There’s no straight-washing. The biographer had a old draft. This project has been in limbo since 2010 and you can actually find multiple variants on the web.

Black Bear Studios, the small indie company that’s actually doing the movie (there’s no big Hollywood studio involved, Warner Brothers finally sold the rights to them this year) cleared this up publicly on their Twitter months ago.

Check their Twitter, it’s @blackbearpics. They’ve repeatedly tweeted at Pink News recently but are being ignored.

Also, some Googling indicates “Julia M. Turing” is just a US fan. No relation.

    1. Sorry Ann, Julia is not ‘just a US fan’ very little on Google of her many accomplishments. Being a world class runner at the 1992 U.S. Olympic trials but a broken foot kept her out of the competition. She broke numerous track records and got Army Athlete of the year in 1990 in Washington DC. She built 2 computers in 1985 and1987 (AL-2000 and the AL-9000) based on the work of Alan Turing. Alan Turing goes back to her early childhood where he saved her life. All of her accomplishments have been under the name of Julia Mathison Turing. Kings College Archives has much info of her. She served our country well as an Officer of the US Army during the war in Iraq working in intelligence under highly TS clearance in coding/decoding. If there is nothing in Google, well then Google doesn’t always have info. on everything and everyone as this proves, the lack of info. on Miss Julia Mathison Turing who has existed for over the last 50+ years now. Try to show a little more respect.

      1. wow arnold your post is almost identical to william’s post! Uncanny! Ms Turing doesn’t provide any proof or even detail of what she is criticising. Is she related to Alan Turing? Is she promoting herself? She leaves a lot of questions conveniently unanswered.

        1. My thoughts exactly! Especially with the over the top claims that:
” yes, I do know his inner secret life, mind and sensual sexuality, intimately.”

        2. And strangely enough posted at the same time (just before two more Julia M. Turing comments appear).

          1. Makes one wonder if those three, William, Aaron, and Julia, bothered to post using separate IP addresses. eh?

          2. Sorry, in my post below should read arnold, not Aaron, sorry

        3. Not good!

        4. Julia Mathison Turing is NOT related to Alan M Turing in any way. The name on her birth certificate is Julie Anne Schwinghamer, born in 1962 and she is posing as a relative or reincarnation of Alan M. Turing. In the late 80′s, she changed her name to Julia Mathison Turing. She currently also uses the name Julia Evig and Julia Von Evig. In the 80′s, she went into a University in England – Archives and REMOVED many of his photos, certificates and diplomas without permission and continues to have these in her possession. They tried for sometime to get her to return the removed items without success (she was living in California at the time during the US Postal Strike) Yes, she has some amazing achievement but that doesn’t make it OK for her to morph into him.

          1. Hey POCO, you’re really LOCO! If she has ‘morphed into him’ what’s it to you? that’s her business and her right! Are you going to arrest her? That means she’s gay too, are you going to go after her for her life style too? I believe that she fought in combat while serving in the U.S. military to defend ‘FREEDOM’ and ‘DEMOCRACY’ to choose and live how she wishes. The last time I checked the United States was a free and democratic country NOT COMMUNIST where thoughtpolice crazies like you want to persecute and execute this innocent person who has no police record. We know Julia Turing and she’s a very kind and thoughtful friend to know. I bet you have a rap sheet a mile long full of felonies like theft!!

      2. Hang on a minute, Turing (d. 1954) saved her life when she was a child and she won ‘army athlete of the year’ in 1990, when she was – what, 37? She was in the Olympic trials in 1992 presumably at the age of around 40, which would be newsworthy in itself, and yet there’s nothing at all to be found about this person on the internet? She’s surnamed Mathison Turing yet there’s no shred of evidence she’s related to Alan Turing? It doesn’t really sound very convincing, now does it?

        1. Well, there is (after some digging) evidence that she was in fact a successful track and field athlete:
          Cuesta College 1988: http://www.skyjumpers.com/pages/CuestaBrochureMon.pdf
          Armed Forces Championship 1992: http://newspaperarchive.com/pacific-stars-and-stripes/1992-06-10/page-24
          Olympic tryouts 1992:
          http://www.usatf.org/usatf/files/69/695a8112-b7a0-4b9d-9dbb-8b4bca22677c.pdf

That does however make it almost impossible for her to have known Turing personally, as she seems to imply. I have absolutely no problem with someone being deeply inspired by Alan Turing, and I don’t want to discredit her achievements (whatever they may be). What I find problematic is the fact that she is setting herself up to be THE expert with a (in my opinion dubious) family/personal tie who should have been contacted/consulted by the writers and producers, and that she is using this position to spread rumours that have already been refuted on multiple occasions.

          1. I say, well done! Your skills at internet research are clearly excellent (either that or I’m hopeless at it, or both). As you say, the likelihood of having her life saved by Turing when a child seems rather on the fanciful side, especially as no details are given, which is in itself suspicious.

      3. Julia Mathison Turing is NOT related to Alan M Turing in any way. She has had an obsession with Alan M Turing since she was a teenager. Not good!

      4. Arnold…this woman posing as Julia Mathison Turing is not related to Alan Turing. Born Julie Anne Schwinghamer in 1962. She has some phenomenal achievements, motivated by Alan Turing, but she is also living a lie since she was a teenager. Alan M Turing became an obsession for her at an early age and she has morph into her current character. She currently uses the name Julia Evig and Julia Von Evig as well.
Interesting isn’t it that he was into computers, so she got into computers. He was a track start, qualifying the Olympics, but hurt is foot – identical for her too. One week before she was to compete in the LA Olympics, she claimed her foot hurt and pulled herself out of the games. What mentally stable individual does this?
Kings College Archive – is where she went to remove many photos, certificates and diplomas WITHOUT permission. She still has these personal belongings of Alan Turing in her possession. I believe that would be considered stealing?

  15. Christopher 20 Aug 2013, 10:19pm

Good article! and to the point on the issue of fictionalizing or adding fictitious scenes in a movie about anyone just to make it sell. She’s right! keep it true to the facts of Turing’s life. No need for nasty attacks on the pretty lady, just because of her concerns over the accuracies of this film.

    1. I agree with you Christopher, this Rehan dud can’t get it right! putting his foot in his mouth by his false accusations of Julia Turing before doing a little research to find that she’s for real. If he had taken the time to read her article and care at all about the legacy of this very fine man, Alan Turing, I would think that he would applaud her stand for keeping the story of him accurate. That’s all she’s asking for here. I guess we haven’t learned our lessons from the persecution of Alan Turing as some of the more ignorant among us are persecuting another Turing right before our eyes for no good reason! Hay Rehan! GET A LIFE!! and while you’re at it take some anger management classes!!!

  16. Re Alan Turing saving Julia’s life, II think that perhaps she means that to be taken metaphorically rather than literally. Imagine, for instance, that Julia could be LGBT. Isn’t it possible that she felt suicidal until she learned of the life and work of Alan Turing. In that sense he DID save her life.

    1. Very possible Dave, some people have suffered greatly in their lives and for what ever the reasons Alan Turing was very important for her as a mentor and possibly father figure to look up to, helping her through the rough days of her early life gay or straight. I don’t’ see any reason for ridiculing or belittling her. It’s her right as a fellow human being to choose Alan to be her strength in an increasingly cruel, hateful, and intolerant world going mad(in my humble opinion). What’s her crime in taking the courage to stand up for what is right for the man she has always loved and admired? Don’t we in the LGBT community demand the same? Look at her accomplishments, I think Alan Turing would be very proud of her as a father would for his daughter. For those ‘nut jobs’ who criticize her, get over it!!!

      1. In reading this, I am reminded of the Star Trek NG episode ‘Offspring’ where Data creates his daughter ‘Lol’. He choses this name because it means ‘My Beloved’. Lol is dependent upon Data to grow and when the threat of her being ripped away from him or her loosing him she commits suicide by short circuiting and could not be revived. I see great significance in the similarities of these two stories, what little I have gathered of Julia to Alan.

    2. It’s possible Dave, some people have suffered greatly in their lives and need someone to look up to for the strength to make it through. She chose Alan Turing to be her mentor and father figure at an early age to modal her life and did very well, look at her accomplishments. I don’t see any reason for ridiculing or belittling her for that, otherwise we are doing to this Turing as was done to Alan Turing. It’s her right as a human being to chose Alan Turing as her mentor to get through this cruel, hateful, and intolerant world. She deserves to be treated with the respect and dignity due her. Don’t we in the LGBT community demand the same?? It took courage for her to stand up and speak out for the truth about his life. I think that Alan Turing would be very proud of her as a father would for his daughter. For those who feel they have to get negative on her, Get Over It!!!

  17. It’s possible Dave, some people have had to live a very difficult life and need a mentor to look up to for the strength to make it. For what ever the reason, we may never know, she chose Alan Turing as a mentor and father figure as a modal for her life at an early age and did very well, look at her life’s accomplishments! It’s her right as a fellow human being to be treated with the same dignity and respect due to all of us. Do we not demand the same in the LGBT community in this cruel, hateful, and intolerant world? It took courage for her to stand up for what is right and spoke out about it, what is her crime? Are we going to persecute this Turing the way Alan Turing was? I think that he would be very proud of her as a father would be for his daughter. For those who feel they have to get negative, Get Over It!!!

  18. She sounds like a very fascinating person to get to know, would be very interested in learning more about her life and how Alan Turing apparently played a integral and important part.

  19. ..well what a surprise! Hollywood changes the facts about someones true identity, plus most importantly their sexual preference…remember there are some pretty awful idiots out there and we don’t want to scare the general public by revealing the real life of anything or any person.

  20. I agree with Julia, I’ve heard that they are changing his life story by adding scenes that are not true and now a relative is speaking out against this film of Alan Turing (the imitation game) for the same reasons as Julia spoke of.
Who is Julia Turing? She looks much like Alan Turing! are they related? a secret daughter of him perhaps?? What a fascinating story that could be if true.

  21. I am very concerned that this movie will distort the truth about the life of Alan Turing thus changing his character.

  22. After reading some info on Julia M. Turing I am reminded of an interesting episode in Star Trek Next Gen. called ‘Offspring’ where Data creates a daughter and names her LOL which means ‘My Beloved’. She is dependent on him to develop and grow in understanding the world around her and Data’s gentle, fatherly love and attention to be there for her was so important. I was moved by her wishing to understand ‘human affection’ when questioning Data about it then put her hand on Data’s hand and in reply Data took put her hand in his, a great intimate moment in the script where two androids becoming more human–Alan Turing’s vision of the ultimate in ‘Artificial life’ he wished he could achieve. The episode ends tragically when the threat of Data being taken away from Lol, she short circuit and dies, possibly committing suicide? My point is that I see a great deal of similarities in Julia Turing’s relationship with Alan Turing. He’s been her fatherly figure and more throughout her life.

    1. Julia Mathison Turing was born Julie Ann Schwinghamer and is an obsessed US fan. She is not related to Alan Turing in any way and has tried to follow his footsteps in her own life, short of committing suicide. In the late 1980′s, she went to King’s College and removed many original photos, documents, certificates of Alan Turing from the Archives Dept. Not cool! As of this year, she even posted some of these items on the internet stating that they were given to her. Not true.

      1. Pocodino, you make serious allegations! what is your proof of her stealing anything??? where are the police reports of her arrests. What items did she post you claim are not hers?? give the web site! if true. You are a real viscous nasty person!!!

  23. Response to M’s rude comment to Julia:
You have no idea what you are saying by accusing Julia of hypocrisy in her statement that “Alan saved western civilization”. If you knew anything at all about Alan Turing’s history you would know that he was awarded the O.B.E. for his code breaking of the German Enigma encryption machine by devising a machine called the “Turing Bombe” at Bletchley park, he should have been knighted. It is widely known that Alan is being credited for cutting WWII short by 3 years for his work which saved countless number of lives, the English, US Allied Forces, Europe, POWs and yes of course the Jews that were still alive!! or does all this mean nothing to you??? I for one am JEWISH!! so YES it means a lot to me!!! Alan Turing helped save our people from annihilation!!! He’s my hero!! Mr. M (Moron) do us all a favor and don’t make comments until you know a little about what you’re talking about, HYPOCRITE!!!

  24. Julia M Turing is NOT related to Alan M Turing. She was born Julie Anne Schwinghamer in 1962 and currently uses other alias depending on her environment or arena she is communicating in. You can also find her as; Julia Von Evig and Julia Evig. I found more alias on Google.

  25. Mike M,
An interesting thought with Star Trek NG, How about the episode ‘Inheritance’ where a woman claims to be Data’s mother whose name is Julianna (German for Julia)! It turns out that she was an android made by Dr Nunian Sun who gave her all the memories of his wife who died. Just a note to add to your interesting comment.

The movie ‘Imitation Game’ is being filmed now. They claim to be in close contact w/ the family which is good to hear. Does anyone know what rating the movie is going to get? G, PG, R? I hope the movie will do the great story of Alan Turing justice otherwise if they take liberties to add to his story that is not true to just make money on him is nothing more than just a big wasted opportunity.

  27. It’s wonderful good news that Alan Turing has now been officially pardoned by the Queen! A great first step to clear the way for Alan to finally get the real recognition he deserves—Knighthood! All of my friends and I really hope the British Gov.t will Knight Alan Turing soon. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of such an award and the recognition for his outstanding contribution he made to his country. Thank you Pinknews for staying on top of the happening news on A. Turing for us here in the States.
