  1. He’s unfortunately right with Gay Men Not being allowed to donate blood in Germany (don’t know but the rest of Europe and the US). And with esp. western/european governments still practicing two-class-societies between gays and straights there will always be room for homophobic propaganda

Have they always been this bad and we’re only just noticing, or are they actually getting more and more vile thanks to Putin’s policies?

    1. “They” have always been this bad. I used to live in the Baltics and the backward outlook left there by the Soviet Empire and reinforced by Russia’s influence was forever present.

Freud was an utter tosspot – he thought men were gay because of an absent father figure, and Lesbians were the result of penis envy. What a twat – excuse my French. Most of the gay men I know, their fathers are still at home, not absent.

If he’s basing his crackpot theories on that then he’s an idiot. When somebody said they were 60 years behind the US on gay right thinking, trying adding another 60. I cannot believe when so many people have the Internet, and they can find all the information easily they still believe in such dipsh1t moronic archaic nonsense. That man needs to sit in a room watching ‘coming out’ videos on YouTube, or those older couples who’ve been together for 10, 15, 20 years and now hope to get married. Real people, who tell their real stories.

He’s acting like some crazed puppet of the Russian Orthodox church.

“…CRAZED PUPPET OF THE R.O.C. ” just about sums it up, GulliverUK.
They are the ones definitely pulling the strings on this one.

“He has enough gay friends”. Enough said, and enough is enough.

He has zero gay friends, and that is enough for him.

  5. Well, I certainly wouldn’t want his heart or any of his organs and I’m not likely to donate mine to him!

  6. It sounds like they are trying to dehumanise and demonise gay people in the eyes of the public, which is also what the religious Right do in the US and elsewhere.

  7. Kiselyov said he could not be labelled a homophobe because “he has enough gay friends”. Yeah right. This was the most common excuse to cover the fact of racism and now to cover the fact that he is a bigot and homophobic.

…and very much in the closet a la Ratzinger/O’Brien.
      Keith

  8. This is exactly the same if someone claimed that black people don’t deserve to live and afterwards would say he’s not a racist.

  9. No matter what pathetic excuses he uses he is a dangerous homophobe.

He is unfortunately correct about blood donation in the UK. However it is on the agenda to be changed.

Here is the current NHS position.

‘As of November 2011, a man who has sex with men can donate blood provided they have not had anal or oral sex with a man during the past 12 months (even with a condom). Previously, men who had sex with men were not allowed to donate blood.’

There are moves to change this.

I don’t know the position in the rest of Europe or in the US.

Here is an in depth article from Wikipedia

  10. I know for a fact that people are contacting the artists due to appear at his festival, and they are likely cancelling their involvement right now.

That is the only reason this bigot is now choosing to back track and try to change what he said.

It is very clear what his intentions were when he made those comments, the audience knew it, we can see it, the man is a f’ing liar.

I hope all the acts tell him where to shove his festival, and I hope he loses millions as a result of it.

Any British act that travels to Russia or supports any of these disgusting individuals by pandering to them will lose any respect from me.

  11. “They are aggressively imposing their minority values on the majority. So sure, society will oppose it. Naturally, right? In various, including brutal forms.”
That is what he said about murders of gays in Russia.

  12. Koktebel Jazz Festival was founded as a non-profit initiative of Dmitry Kiselev.
    official website – http://www.koktebel.info/en/
Kiselev also has a great house in Koktebel.

  13. There is still a part of the UK where gay men are banned from giving blood, gay couples are banned from adopting and where LGBT-related laws of the rest of the nation do not apply. Yes, you guessed it … Northern Ireland.

It wouldn’t be surprising if gay people in N.I. are also banned from donating organs.

The type of discrimination against gay people that this Russian TV host advocates is therefore still in place in the UK (even if only in one part of it).

If an openly gay athlete wins a medal and any children see this, then that is “homosexual propaganda to children”, therefore the Russian police will arrest the athlete and escort him/her off the victory dais for imprisonment, fining and deportation in disgrace.

This is not acceptable. The IOC must move the Olympics to a different country where homosexuality is not a crime.

“I have enough gay friends”, he says. After that little ditty I’d say by “enough”, he means “zero” and even if he doesn’t, that’s how many the tw*t has now.

…just seen that someone beat me to that one – apologies for repetition, folks.
