Another Orthodox state of course. Stop LGBT Armenians from talking entirely. That will stop them from existing entirely won’t it….

  2. This is what you get when you are close to Russia. Thankfully Eastern Europe has the EU to balance and slowly counter the advance of such bigoted influence.

  3. As an armenian lesbian, working with the LGBT community in London for the last 8 years, I can tell you that many people in the UK also experience violence and abuse and that is with a wealth of legal protections in place. Like most hate crime, these incients are rearly filmed except by the perps as momentos. What maybe happening in Russia or Armenia, is a global problem.

Are you aware of the effect of these proposals maria? If an Armenian who is attacked because they are gay goes to the police, what do you think will occur? Do you think the police will support the victim or blame them?

Contrast that with what happens in the UK. Or in any civilised country, which up until now I counted Armenia as.

It is important that we lobby European Government. Armenia is hoping to be included in Europe and it must be told that this will exclude it.

  5. I can’t Believe this -.-
I’m so ashamed of me being Armenian.
I was so hoping that Russia won’t influence Armenia

And how long will it be before similar laws are promulgated in Britain once a Conservative government pulls Britain out of the ECHR and the EU? Our own layer of protection is not that thick, you know. Never forget Clause 28.

  7. The international community needs to make an effort to talk to these people, and explain to them how a sexual orientation cannot be “promoted”

Don’t they realize that heterosexuality and heterosexual “propaganda” is ruthlessly shoved in the faces of everyone, but that doesn’t stop some people from being gay?

They need to do more to teach these people that LGBT are born that way, and that it isn’t a glitch, but it serves a real purpose and it happens throughout the animal kingdom. It serves a purpose that benefits the entire population, not just with biology but the points of view and the valuable perceptions of such people, and by constantly extinguishing such flames you’re directly hurting the entire population, and hindering their growth.

I have an Armenia flag in my room. If they adopt these rules I’ll swap it for a rainbow flag or even better, an Azerbaijan flag.
