  1. I am currently conducting research investigating domestic violence in the trans* community in an attempt to highlight this problem and inform service providers including police of how best to support such victims/survivors. It is also aimed at providing more information to trans* people on domestic violence and providing reassurance that there is support available

  2. There are so few organisations working in this area, News of Gay Men’s Shared Housing, the first organisation in the UK to offer “refuge type” accommodation for gay men, has had its funding cut. Survivors of domestic abuse currently living there are facing eviction. Outrageous.

  3. There is domestic violence support available across the country from Victim Support, the LGBT friendly crime charity for victims and witnesses of crime. They have teams of support workers locally, and a national support line 0845 30 30 900. http://www.victimsupport.org.uk
