Mervyn was a lovely man. He did so much good work. CAI has benefitted not just LGBT members of the Church of Ireland, but LGBT Christians everywhere.

Go Ndeana Dia Tocaire ar a hAnam,

  4. His work made the world a better place and is a very honourable legacy.

I send my blessings and thanks to him.

  5. Mervyn was a wonderful man who, just as he began fighting a very long and gruelling battle with cancer, also began fighting a gruelling battle for acceptance of LGBT people in Ireland’s churches.

For most people, battling cancer is a full-time occupation. For Mervyn, it was a reason to devote his remaining years to fighting an injustice.

He will be remembered not just for his work and achievements, but also for his great courage and determination.
