  1. How does this woman know so damn much about homosexuality?? She is a christian radio host, and a but job to boot.

    1. She’s a truly devoted homosexualist. This woman thinks about gay sex more than I do, and I think about it A LOT.

      Mr. Pink

    2. America is full of these haters and most of them are evangelicals / southern Baptists – the people who justified slavery as per the bible etc

All this white trash garbage should be sent to a reconsituted devils Island or tossed into Guantanamo prison wherre those muslims hate everyone

She would get what she deserves while the prisoners would get a respite from lack of sex.

      1. Wow, I’m glad these things aren’t left down to you!

She deserves to be raped? Er, no. no-one deserves that.

Guantanamo is full of ‘those muslims’ who ‘hate everyone’? Again, no, most of them haven’t been allowed to present any kind of defence at all for their alleged crimes.

  2. “Harvey said: “Many people struggle with appetites for food that lead to obesity but very few were born with a hormonal imbalance leading to weight gain, almost everyone learned these appetites along the way so unlearning them will also be a step-by-step process but it is most certainly possible, starting with facing the truth. It’s kind of similar with homosexual feelings. But no, the world’s message today is go for it, declare yourself and join the out-and-proud community.””

By her own twisted logic, she is precluding the chance that people are born with this ‘imbalance’, even if they are ‘very few’. She’s defeating her own asinine point of view.

Just further proof that she and her ilk just talk out of their collective asses!

  3. Oh, look – it’s loopy Linda again! I almost feel embarrassed for her displaying such stupidity in public.

  4. Is it possible for Linda Harvey’s ignorance to be unlearned? Perhaps a good psychiatrist could help her.

    1. nixiotemba 5 Aug 2013, 7:39pm

      or a nice sharp knife?

    2. Helen Wilson 6 Aug 2013, 12:20am

A lobotomy and a few years of electro-convulsive therapy should help the poor cow out!

      1. :-) yes Helen! That’s sounds like a suitable treatment regime, lol.

    3. a lobotomy would be preferable. Too bad we cant have the roman circus with the lions to solve this piece of garbage’s problem

  5. What I don’t understand is why you at pinknews continue to give a platform to these brainless morons.

    1. It’s another slow news day and it’s soooo easy just to copy and paste these predicatble ‘US Radio Host…’ stories, no effort required by PN !

      1. PantoHorse 6 Aug 2013, 9:34am

They do it for a very simple reason. Most people are sucked in by the name because it contains the word news – that’s a big mistake. Pink ‘News’ is little more than a copywriting front generating advertising revenue for pretty much one person – the site’s owner and founder. To believe it is providing a service is naive at best. Even when there’s real news breaking in London, home to the site’s owner and many of the copywriters, they don’t cover it in person, instead preferring to copy stuff verbatim from other sources (e.g. the dreadful copy and paste job (from the Guardian) PN did on the protest outside the Daily Mail offices after Lucy Meadow’s death instead of actually sending someone down there).

They do it because they need to keep generating page hits in order to generate revenue.

    2. totally agree with you. its getting boring now. We get it , she hates gays. But the more she is noticed the more she will continue. Come on Pink news enough is enough now. Move on , we all have.

  6. I wouldn’t normally tell others how to do their jobs, but is this woman’s asinine funda-mentalist blather from across the pond really deserving of so much attention? Every fortnight or so we get an update about her dusty and vicious rants which seem to be aimed at the kind of people who miss Jerry Fulwell. How many regulars here had even heard of Harvey until PN gave her this platform?

    1. BVut its important to know the enemy

      1. I quite agree… but does said enemy warrant THIS much exposure when they are just a Lynette Burrows type in the States?

  7. GulliverUK 5 Aug 2013, 7:07pm

Just listened to the show, out of curiosity. We know she’s a religious nutter. She broadcasts on a Christian nutters radio station called wrfd, which appears to have a very limited broadcast range, so she also makes the files available on her web site. She gets less than 8 mins per day (repeated once) .. it’s a bit like Thought For The Day. Mission America is .. just her, no staff. Even her husband had to donate to her to keep the whole thing going.

I’m not sure if it’s best, at this point, to just completely ignore her, rather than give her any oxygen / publicity by featuring her in PN, on twitter, etc. You make her sound like some larger group, like FRC, when in reality it’s one women doing less than 8 mins, weekdays, with a tiny broadcasting reach.

btw, Focus on the Family and James Dobson are also on that station
    http://www.wrfd.com/ProgramGuide.aspx

    1. Pink News would have very few stories if it stopped endlessly promoting extremism.

The most laughable thing about PN’s promotion of homophobia is that it pretends that it is helping equal rights by giving the oxygen of publicity to utter nobodies.

So much so that freaks like the Westboro Baptist Church tweets Pink News directly, as they know they will get publicity through Pink News by doing that.

Pink News is a vessel for homophobic bigotry.

      1. GulliverUK 5 Aug 2013, 7:36pm

I follow about 300 rss feeds from LGBT news outlets, blogs, etc. Most of the news sites do tend to cover the same materials, and if don’t cover it, you don’t appear in the search results of search engines, you don’t get hits, you don’t get advertising revenue, etc.

However, as I’ve said on other occasions a better balance is available, and I’d cite Huffington Post Gay Voices section, as having the required mix to enable continued motivation of committed supporters, whilst ensuring that they are also reminded about the good things which they are fighting for.
        http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gay-voices/

Remember, that Linda Harvey, Dobson, FRC, NOM, etc., all whip up hatred of us to motivate their supporters to oppose equality, … and send them money to fund campaigns. Motivation is important on both sides – to get people to do things.

    2. I had thought that Mission America was one of those big Christian organisations and that Linda Harvey had an audience. From your information, it appears that one of her main audiences is us at Pink News. Also, if Westboro Baptist Church tweets Pink News directly, as SteveC has said, then they obviously think that achieves something. Previously, I thought it important for us be aware of bigotry around the globe and the fate of LGBTs in those places, but Harvey and WBC are only a few individuals. It IS important for us to be aware of the plight of LGBTs in places like Russia and Uganda where real persecution takes place, but now after reading the comments here, perhaps WBC’s tweets to PN should be ignored as with anything about Little Miss Nobody, Linda Harvey. Obviously a balance needs to be reached, but perhaps we should treat these extremists with little or no support in the same way we’re supposed to treat internet trolls.

  8. How many listeners does this woman have?

    Does it even reach 10,000?

How many people will she reach with her bigotry through Pink News’ promotiion of bigotry.

    Pink News promotes homophobia relentlessly.

These extremists exist because sites like PN bend over backwards to promote them.

And the hack that wrote this ‘article’ really is an appallingly bad writer.

    1. GulliverUK 5 Aug 2013, 7:20pm

Good points about her reach – that’s what I also questioned.

As to the 2nd part — lighten up dude :)

If you have issues with PN’s editorial decisions your criticism should be constructive and include positive suggestions for improvement. :-p

givin yer a thumbs up for the first part tho.

  9. had two bowls of stupid for breakfast, did she?…..so glad we are seeing thelast of this special kind of idiot

  10. Hmm, just like fundamentalist Christianity is caused by a mental imbalance.

  11. justusboyz 5 Aug 2013, 7:40pm

Silly old bag. deserves no thoughtful comment!

  12. this is about the 3rd or 4th article about this disgusting woman that i’ve read in pink news. pink news, why are you giving so much space to this person—the crap that she’s says has been said dozens and dozens of times before by countless other homophobes. surely there are many other diverting matters your readers would be interested in.

  13. yes dear whatever you say, maybe being a gay hater is just like over eating as well

  14. GulliverUK 5 Aug 2013, 8:34pm

It’s slightly confusing, she says; “ … being gay is due to a “hormone imbalance”, similar to people who have eating disorders and become obese, and that it is a behaviour which can simply be “unlearned”

If being gay is a “hormone” imbalance [biological / chemical], how can it be “unlearned” [psychological] ? Surely that doesn’t make sense. If I had cancer could I just get some CBT and it would be gone?!

Perhaps it is good that she has finally given in to scientific evidence that there is a biological component to sexual orientation, all sexual orientation.

    1. Why are you expecting sense, logic or rational argument from a homophobe?

Homophobia in such extremes is a mental illness and should be treated as such.

      1. its actually obsessive compulsive disorder — iinduced by relentless BS that poisons the mind and the only thing that makes these creeps feel better is having someone else besides themselves to hate

Meanwhile the world moves on and England and wales have gays marrying next year. Prob scotland also

there is a constittuional referendum in the most catholic nation in the world scheduled for 2014.

Given the 3 to 1 support for marriage equaltiy we can expect the vatican to explad in a new holy Inquisiiton.

One large bomb would do much to end religious hatred in the western world

  15. She is a moron. Someone that on the surface sounds intelligent but dig a little and nothing is there.

    mo·ron (môrn, mr-)
    n.
    1. A stupid person; a dolt.
    2. Psychology A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education.

  16. Tom (Winnipeg) 5 Aug 2013, 9:26pm

I would not try to reason with this pitiful nut job, and I could not expect more from her in terms of intelligence. But I must express my revulsion.

  17. This woman is full of vile putrid hate, her delusional opinions have no basis in science what so ever.
Given her previous pronouncements it would seem she “deeply personally believes” every random thought that flits though her head.
Crazy Linda should not be given the oxygen of publicity.
I cannot even be bothered to point and laugh anymore.

    Kathryn

  18. In response to those critical of PN and other gay outlets’ coverage of the likes of Linda Harvey: Yes, it’s publicity, but it’s critical publicity, such as they won’t receive on their own stations or on the mainstream media shows that have them on as guests, where they are never questioned or challenged.

And as appalling as they are, I’d rather know what they’re up to than have them working completely under the radar.

That said, yes, she’s ignorant and vicious, which describes most of the rapidly anti-gay right. And yes, Mission America is just her, which describes a majority of the anti-gay “organizations.” That’s another thing to keep people aware of.

  19. Pay no attention to this woman. She comes from a group of people with an average IQ of about 80.

    1. Ra

I think 80 is a tad too high…. he he

  20. It’s bad enough when mainstream media refer to these nutjobs as “Conservative,” “Religious,” “Christian” or “American.” It’s absolutely inexcusable coming from LGBT news sources. These are HATE GROUPS. Call them what they are. The more disconnected the media makes these people from their extremism, the easier it is for them to find followers. Not to mention it’s unfair to people who are American/Christian/conservative/etc. who are pro-LGBT, since it lumps them in with nasty bigots.

  21. I really don’t get this argument at all. I know that there’s still debate going on in the scientific world as to how much of homosexuality is nature vs. nurture. But for the sake of argument let’s say she’s right and it wasn’t generally something you were born with, that it was a behaviour chosen during puberty and could be switched on/off almost at a whim. So what? What the hell difference would that make morally?

  22. I’d certainly love to meet her face to face. I’d demand to know what medical university she graduated from, to make a pronouncement. And if she had the temerity to say it’s in a report, I’d challenge her to produce it. I’d also ask if the writer has a medical degree, from which medical school, if he’d published any papers on the subject, and most important, whether they’ve been peer reviewed. These are standard questions, and if she’s making claims, she should be able to back those claims with verifiable proofs. It would be worth it just to watch her stutter and backtrack.

  23. James Savik 6 Aug 2013, 5:43am

Just when I think this idiot can’t get any stupider, she opens her mouth with a new low.

  24. Boerewors 6 Aug 2013, 8:26am

    guantanamerican retard

    1. justusboyz 8 Aug 2013, 1:36pm

Drop the American bit.. I’ll agree

  25. Jock S. Trap 6 Aug 2013, 9:45am

    What a bore.

Uneducated people are so boring aren’t they?!!!!

  26. And she knows this from experience?!

  27. Guglielmo Marinaro 6 Aug 2013, 10:50am

Some people – although fortunately ever fewer, as time goes on – struggle with unhealthy, superstitious and abusive attitudes that lead to anti-gay hatred, but very few, if any, were born with a psychological disorder leading to homophobia; almost everyone learned these attitudes along the way, so unlearning them will also be a step-by-step process, but it is most certainly possible, starting with facing the truth.

  28. Homophobia and bigotry are learned behaviour usually pocked up form other homophobes and bigots and very often comes from being homosexual and not being free to accept it.

  29. Another loudmouth “Christian” bigot in America, what a surprise!

This shouldn’t even be news, they’re just fame-hungry morons issuing brain farts whenever they’re given an opportunity.

This nutter can think what she likes, all it’s doing is embarassing her religion and helping to destroy it.

Nothing is destroying religion more effectively than their refusal to live in the real world.

In a way, she’s providing a good service, and pushing away millions of people who might otherwise be interested in religion.

Bring it on bitch, lets see how much more damage you can do to your religious cult! ;)

  30. Dr.CC Berg 7 Aug 2013, 4:58am

Hormones can have an impact upon behavior and resulting in both positive and negative behavior. This would be responsive behavior and NOT originating/sustaining behavior.

So once again a lay individual has a micro-soft, that when attired grow into a dark tree.

  31. |Another god bothering nut case given airtime. These people are so deluded i actually feel sorry for them. Im not saying its wrong to believe in god just do it in the privacy of your own home out of sight of the ‘normal’ people. Perhaps one day they will find a cure for them??

  32. Why give this woman press time? The more we show their views the more the ammunition it gives them to spread homophobic rhetoric. Spread the good and not the bad. The more people see this kind of news, the more will jump on the band wagon!

  33. I really believe that silly people like this very, very silly woman should just be ignored. Anyone with the tiniest amount of humanity and common sense knows that the verbal vomit she spews is just a load of bilge.

Please don’t give her a platform to enrage and upset us. Let’s just totally ignore her and focus on all the nice people in the world! xx
