  2. Idiot. Hopefully the punishment of not being able to go to his beloved football for a year will make him think twice in future, although I doubt it.

    Maybe sending him on a diversity course or something like that would have been a good idea too, just to get across to him that homophobia is unacceptable – although I suspect, if it wasn’t homophobic abuse he was shouting, it woud’ve been racist or sectarian or any kind of abuse at all.

    He sounds like a right charmer!

    I really think football fans prone to violence and other aberrant behavior who are arrested, should be banned permanently if they are re-arrested for the same offence. No second chances, ever.
