Good. These kinds of wrecking amendments are about personal insecurities and I don’t see why we should have to cater for bigots who don’t understand their own marriage to deny others there’s.

You know this stuff really knocks your faith in the human race.

Thank goodness for a younger generation and certain politicians who have a backbone and look forward not backwards.

To be honest my faith in humanity is being restored.

With each defeat of these wrecking amendments designed by a vocal minority it is clear that we have won all arguments.

Granted we lost the pension equality one, but that can be addressed at a later date.

It is surprising to me that it is many of the Tory old guard from the Thatcher government that is driving this through.

Clearly they never had the balls whilst in cabinet at the time to oppose her, however every wrecking amendment has been knocked down.

Registrars, 2 Tier marriage, Religious conscience etc. All kicked out.

However each and every wrecking amendment was voted for by the sitting bishops.

Time for these old men in frocks to go.

Indeed. Disestablishment needs to be seriously lobbied for. The peope at the top of the CoE have proven themselves more concerned with the attitudes of Nigerian Bishops than the British people. Therefore they have no place in our Parliament.
