So sad-and this has been going on for a LONG time in Turkey. Refuse their application for EU ! Turkey is a homophobic hell. Don’t go there for vacation-

A close friend of mine, a gay Iranian asylum seeker- while in transit in Turkey-was attacked in a city centre, beaten and kicked ’cause he was homosexual. He thought his last time had come ,and none of the people who were present helped him ! Fortunately he managed to run away ; but the police did not care about his explanation. ’cause he was gay ? Most probably ! HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE !

  3. This is an old repeated pattern, largely seen in countries with conservative religious systems deemed to be under threat. In Turkey its Islam, in Greece where several transgendered were arrested by police in Thessaloniki recently, and Russia with its new law against “gay propaganda”, its Eastern Orthodoxy. New research into homophobia shows a falsely perceived fear of being the object of unwanted sexual interest, i.e., gay panic, to be predominant in such individuals acting-out acts of violence against LGBTs:
