  1. Not only must these legal challenges not be funded from the public purse, the DUP party must reimburse the 40000 quid.

Surely they can be held liable for this.

    If not then why not.

Their neo-fascist religious extremism can only be funded from their own purse.

    The DUP are thieving scum.

Edwin Poots is a criminal for facilitating this theft.

    1. Why do you think they can be held liable for this? Not much happened t MPs who fiddled their expenses or lied to parliament so don’t hold your breath.

      1. I think you’ll find a lot had to repay the claims which were bought to light and some were jailed.

This issue is different. He is using his judicial option/right as health minister to try and reverse a democratic and just decision based on his own stupid bigotry and hatred of gays

        1. They should all have been jailed, they fraudulently stole money.

My point was not that he shouldn’t be punished, it was that he won’t be punished.

  2. £40k of public money spent by this twat fighting against gay rights. That’s not just public money that includes taxes paid by gay people! He should be forced to pay that back & sacked & jailed for i dunno…fraud (possibly)?

  3. Makes a change from Iris spending it on toy boys .it really depresses me that this is the major unionist party .

This is outrageous, sad, uneducated, bigoted and just wrong…..This idiot needs to be sacked.

    Please constituents deselect this thing.

The world is trying hard to move forward.

There are many reports from Educated bodies in USA, Australia, Brasil and the UK that are evidence based that same sex adoption is a massive success.

Please leave uneducated mumbo jumbo dogma behind and embrace education, fact, figures, science.

First Minister of Northern Ireland Peter Robinson step in here please.

I would expect him to be prosecuted for misappropriation of public funds.

“As a result, adoption rights for same-sex couples were put on hold.”

Is the author sure about this? My understanding was that there was no stay put on the ruling pending further repeal and the current advice is that applications put forward by same-sex couples will be considered like any others.

  7. The guy’s a Biblical literalist. He’s beyond hope. Perhaps he should say a prayer to Jude (the patron saint of lost causes).

Considering he’s DUP I’m only surprised he didn’t just pocket it via some backdoor route.

Like Iris, who was quickly painted as an insane adulterer in order to detract attention, did. She loved her backhanders that one.

Well, maybe not the ones dished out by her violent and abusive husband.

  9. You know what’s sad? Future generations are gonna look back at this whole mess with total disbelief. Imagine how ridiculous all this is going to look in 20 years when people have finally been educated about sexuality and the church’s stranglehold on the state’s is severed.

  10. Why have a bigot in charge of health?
If it was up to this poontang he’d remove the rights of gays to use the health service

Why do the people of NI tolerate these religious demented freaks? Boot them out in the next election please.

It’ll need a generation to completely pass before this bunch lose influence for good. At the moment they are still seen as the anti-SinnFeinIRA Party, meaning everyone who can’t let go of the past would vote for a chimp in a DUP rosette.

Although thinking about it the chimp would improve the Party’s average with regards to ethics quite substantially.

  12. Thieving for Jesus.

If I was a politician and was so devout as some of the opposers seem to be I hope I would have the honesty to stand as a religious or theocratic candidate rather than infiltrate mainstream parties.

Perhaps they also enjoy the Mammon that elected office provides? As we have seen this guy isn’t the only crypto theocrat who enjoys the rewards of elected office while at the same time pursuing a religious agenda. Fraudulent really.

    1. Thieving for Jesus.
      Lying for Jesus.
      Hating for Jesus.

Recently, Secular Scotland revealed that before she spoke to Catholic children from schools in the Paisley diocese and a child had to receive extensive counselling after her shock-tactics, abstinence-only advocate, Pam Stenzel was invited to address the Northern Ireland Assembly.
