  1. Please someone send this to the Lords, so they can withdraw their ridiculous ammendments once and for all.

    1. I think if you read the whole letter on the govt website the head says she has already sent this information to all the peers….they’re just not listening!

And I hope those bigots listen to this. Guessing it’ll be too much to expect them to listen to facts.

Besides we pay taxes equally, We pay for registrars too so why should there be an opt out?

We’re actually spent years paying for registrars yet not been allow to be married by them. How is that fair and equal?

  3. All this bigotry boils down to one thing…Religion.

My mother is a Registrars and any religious reference no matter how small, prayers hymns etc) are banned by law in civil marriage.

Exactly right, Dan, but more accurately religion based homophobia. They all deny it of course and will make sure to trot out the “I have gay friends” card to exonerate them from accusations. Imaginary gay friends for the most part I think.

Anglican Mainstream is currently urging its members to use the site to urge Peers to vote against the Bill.

You can see all of the marshalled amendments to be introduced on Monday and Wednesday, most of them from the usual suspects and other demented loons.

The NPR statement was emphasised during Committee meetings and mentioned several times so they can’t claim they were unaware of its position. They just want to derail the Bill nothing more but they won’t succeed in my view. These amendments are just a rehash of those shot down in Committee. They’ll keep on changing the wording slightly well into third reading as a last minute attempt to wreck but my gut feeling says they won’t get anywhere. It’s quite obvious they’ve been getting help from their like-minded nutters in the Commons, Burrowes, Bone, Leslie, Loughton, Anglican Mainstream. All a bunch of compulsive religious freaks.

No doubt Christian Concern and the Christian Institute have their sh!t smeared fingers in the pie also.

So if the registrars don’t want this amendment why the hell are goons like Williams pushing for it? It’s increasingly looking more and more like homophobia.

    1. If it looks like homophobia, smells like homophobia……etc.

  6. doubt very much those in the lords pushing for that will take any notice but hey you can always hope right? (on a seperate note why is it when ever i see the picture used for these kinda stories the first thing that comes to my head is.. the one ring.. to rule them all! :P)

  7. Quite right too; registrars should do the job they are being paid for.

  8. Why would someone with heavily religious beliefs do a job where they have to undertake something that takes religion out of the very thing they have strong beliefs about. If religious people think marriage is a religious institution, why on earth are they being registrars in the first place.
