Well, even though NI has a devolved Assembly independent of Westminster, every positive voice in support of LGBT equality is welcome The Speaker of the House holds an extremely important position. I know this sounds simplistic but what I object to are DUP Paisleyites sitting in the House of Commons voting against the Marriage Bill that affects only England and Wales. No English or Welsh MPs are accorded the same rights in the NI Assembly nor are they allowed to interfere in their domestic affairs. About time that changed. Some of the most hateful rhetoric came from them during the second and third reading in the Commons.

I think the Ayes have it, the Ayes have it.
