I am a huge fan of Big Brother, Im american so ive seen about 5 season of the U.S., but i fell in love with last season in Australia which was i think the first time a gay person won it in Australia. The U.K. big brother is ok i guess live only seen the season Celebrity Big Brother with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt which i wanted to scratch my eyes out. But the U.S. big brother is very much censored, i think they should let her stay makes for a better show to not like her.

PinkNews has just started talking about this today, But in the U.S. we been talking about it for 2 days. So if anyone is more aware of what going on its me. Im not defending her racism or homophobia rather i would hope they would air on television so people could see what these people are saying, actually Pink News didn’t go farther enough to state what else some of these house guests have said. Spencer called Andy behind his back a FAG. Andy the gay one if you don’t know. GinaMarie also said that Candice’s “blackness” is showing after she was saved from eviction. Jeremy likes nothing more than to refer to all the women in the house as bitches. Aaryn, Kaitlin and GinaMarie got rather ugly talking about Candice and Howard, saying that blacks stick together and that they’re tokens. These people are phony in reality this is what their saying when they believe the cameras are not rolling they should be held accountable for what they say, But they need to Air it to do so. OK robert !!!

The fact that she is not the only homophobe or racist does not excuse her OR the programme. On the contrary, it is more evidence that such people should be treated firmly and that such programmes are a blight on our culture.

Spreading awareness of their bigotry is fine; giving them an open mic type platform to broadcast it is not.

          1. Cherry Valley 4 Jul 2013, 12:19am

hmm well here’s the thing, they are not saying this into an open mic per-say. When you join big brother they actually tell you when filming is. I think its from 8am until 9pm but after 9pm, you can pay i think about $24 USD to watch Big Brother After dark. You can go around the house on your computer into different rooms and snoop into what they are saying. So don’t think they are doing it during filming, But at the same time maybe they will say something off colored even when they are shooting, they are not the westboro baptist church understand that. Its the idea that they think they are saying this behind close doors or don’t realize people are watching. So if you put it on T.V. people can see this. And they should see this. Its wrong to sensor truth. Imagine if american textbook made slavery look like it was not that bad, or HAte crime towards LGBT like “differences of Opinion”. Don’t sensor life show it.

I think Cherry society here takes a (thankfully) slightly different view on it.

Expressing those views is not socially acceptable here in general, and to a greater or lesser extend people are pulled up and punished for it – whether filmed or not.

The debate here is generally about the level of punishment or repercussion when incidents like this occur.

Had after the first incident in the US house happened the offending member be tossed out, there may very well not have been a second, third, fourth or fifth incident.

Its a fairly straightforward way of nipping this type of thing in the bud.

          3. Damn – sorry SMC, clicked ‘report’ on your post by mistake!

@Cherry Valley – Any right ends wherever it conflicts with the rights of another. Even freedom of expression is therefore not unlimited or without consequence, hence the concepts of defamation and of hate speech which are legislated for in many countries.

To somehow claim “no fair” simply because more people heard them than they intended is a pathetic and cowardly response, and one that has never held water. If you hold anti-social views based on irrational bigotry, it is totally fair and right that society calls you out on your bigotry.

At a very practical level at some point the programme makers need to take moral responsibility for the quality of their contestants, or their unbridled pursuit of ratings via controversy will continue up to the point where housemates come to real harm at the hands of such people, never mind the wider ramifications of normalising such behaviours by exposing impressionable people to it without censure.

    2. “I am a huge fan of Big Brother” – unbelievably inane, mindless show but even more incredible to admit to being a fan of such banality.

“Im american” – that explains a great deal.

Always wanting to be constructive with my comments, I suggest there is a cure for both, get out and see the world, the world that exists outside north America, you will find it much more interesting than anything you might see on Big Brother and what you see might broaden your perspective on different people, cultures, issues facing the world.

  2. Robert in S. Kensington 3 Jul 2013, 6:21pm

Yet another typical bloody mindless crappy show as are all reality shows and the equally ugly side of human nature which this airhead has in abundance.

    1. Colin (London) 3 Jul 2013, 10:22pm

So glad you said that. I was thinking it….lol

      1. St Sebastian 4 Jul 2013, 2:30am

        Me three.

  3. Is her name Aaryn or should it actually be spelt Aryan?

    1. Heh – but that would be an insult to all Indo-Iranian people.

  4. Simple, Kick the bitch…….off the show ofc :D

  5. The only thing worse than her bigotry is giving her a public venue to express them. Yank her out like the rotten tooth she is.

    1. St Sebastian 4 Jul 2013, 2:28am

Exactly. I wouldn’t mind betting the producers knew about her racist and homophobic attitudes which would stir controversy resulting in higher ratings for the show – never mind the consequences for the abused individually and more broadly. Shame on all concerned, including the viewers who lap up this crass conflict/hateful/schadenfreuden driven rubbish.

  6. Everybody sing!
    There was a tramp
    With a nasty mouth
    And “Bimbo” was her name-o!”
    *nasty laughter*

  9. Kick that bitch of the show!

    1. JackAlison 4 Jul 2013, 5:38am

      lol.
      well said

  10. She’s on Big Brother bad career move!.. too bad her agency already dropped her… she sound like an ideal personality for a production of “Taming of the Shrew”

    1. Steve_R, I’d be willing to lay odds she wouldn’t even know that play, or the author, OR that famous actors like Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor helped make it into a movie!

      1. Nigel, I’d say the odds are in your favor!

  11. Vile woman! That is all.
