  1. The bigot brigade has a nice ring to it.

    1. Midnighter 1 Jul 2013, 12:19am

      “Christians United New Testament Scouting”
would seem fitting as an acronym were they not relying so heavily on the old testament for their “moral” values.

The front of proposing a name which includes the word “Liberty” for an organisation to be created for expressly exclusionary purposes is beyond the pale.

  2. American Scouting Honour League (ASHL) for short!

  3. What will he do if his grandson turns out to be the gay kid? Ban him from his own organisation and send him off to join the Scouts?

  4. Oh please… while you add it create an airlines just for straight, heave to mercy you should sit next to a gay person or have on so close to you. Don’t stop there how about a shopping mall, private housing complex etc. and while at you might have find a way to get products, food, clothing, entertainment, medical care and what have you since you just can’t be sure it’s gay free. Have fun with that.

BTW: I suggest bubble wrap and blinders for your grandchildren.

I know I will be speaking to my grandchildren about people like you and not to be afraid of them just say boo… they’ll go running.

Why are these people so intent on dividing and pushing for inequality?

When thinking this is mainly about children how can it be right to show such hatred, such discrimination at an age when they should be taught acceptance.

It seem discrimination to these people holds no boundaries, no morals, support or otherwise and all in an attempt to control society and all aspects of it.

  6. is it even legal? To set up an organization on the principle of excluding a group of people? It’s one thing when the BSA has a bigoted policy within it, but this is set up for the very reason to exclude a group of people based on their genetics. Would he get away setting up a group based on the exclusion of a racial minority?
This is absurd for 21st century America.
If I was an American and had the finances, I’d set one up to include everyone EXCEPT for Christians. Let them see how it feels for once.
    F*cking bigots

  7. Looking for a name?
How ’bout ‘Bigots united’? Or ‘bigots for christ’? How about something more obvious? When little boys set up their tree house clubs, they usually put a sign up at the front stating ‘no girls allowed’. So how about, ‘The No Homos Club’?

  8. Just saying... 30 Jun 2013, 7:53pm

Do these people not realize that gay boys have ALWAYS been in the boy scouts?

  9. Why are these creepy people so obsessed with sex?

    1. Rudehamster 1 Jul 2013, 11:44am

Actually David, it’s only ever gay sex they’re obsessed with.
They’re all so busy flexing their straight genes, whilst hoping people don’t notice the lube on their arse.

  10. The good thing is that the young people he’s aiming his organisation at have more sense of right and equality that he has. They will make their own decisions and even pushy stupid parents won’t make them hate when they don’t want to.
The biggest ally the LGBT community has is the internet – no kids gonna hate someone they know, they see or they want to be just because their f***wit parents tell them to.
People like this bigot are going nowhere other than prison when the truth comes out.
When will it ever sink in that the people they hate are their own children.

  11. “I’ve got a 7-year-old grandson in Cub Scouts,” he added. “When he gets old enough for Boy Scouts, what do you do about a 16-year-old gay kid in camp?”

Is he referring to his own grandson? Probably hasn’t crossed his minuscule brain that it could be the case. Presumably he would beat it out of him?

  12. He probably believes there are no gay or bisexual members in the scouts already?

Just as people used to believe there were no gay/bisexual members of the armed forces. Perhaps they thought LGBT could be indentified by the large feather boas they always wore.

  13. Why does he dye only the top of his hair dark brown I wonder?

  14. Isn’t the love of Jesus simply wonderful?

  15. David in Indianapolis 30 Jun 2013, 10:21pm

    “American Sons of Liberty”

    So liberty means excluding others?

Just one of the many reasons this country has gone down the toilet.

  16. D.N.A.J. A .R.I.E: De Nile ain’t just a river in Egypt…

  17. “Mr Stemberger has yet to pick a name for the group”

    How about the Stemberger Youth?

  18. Ages 5 – 10: Kamping Kristian Kids (KKK)
Ages 10 – 18: National Assoc. of Zero Intelligence (NAZI)
It’ll have 4 ranks, you add one arm for each advancement…

    1. Sorry, the crude graphics were too crude to display properly.
      But, you get the idea.

  19. Christopher in Canada 1 Jul 2013, 1:41am

Meanwhile, 16 year old str8 boys can pursue girls without nary a protest. And if they conceive, it’s HER fault!

  20. So is it going to be a Christian only group like American Heritage Girls (formed when the Girl Scouts dropped the religious test against atheists). Or will they allow Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and/or Buddhists.

BTW they can’t use ‘Scout’/Scouting in their name; the BSA has it trademarked (the Girl Scouts are the sole exception [despite BSA attempts to get them to change the name back around 1920]).

  21. Bigotry and fearmongering by the same angry “white” men.

  22. lukefromcanada 1 Jul 2013, 5:08am

how about “Nationalsozialismus for the 21st century,” because that’s all this really is. So many of these names seem so neo-nazi that it makes sense to say what it really is

  23. “American Sons of Liberty” that would be an inappropriate choice. Why do those who want to deny liberty always try to claim it as their own? An example of Orwellian doublespeak if ever there was.

  24. GulliverUK 1 Jul 2013, 8:56am

Won’t someone please think of the children !!

How horrible for a child to be told by their parents they have to join the local bigots chapter and can’t join all the others in an inclusive group. Children may end up hating their parents for forcing their bigotry on them.

  25. Zoe Bremer 1 Jul 2013, 9:57am

I wonder how he’s going to find out which of his Scouts are gay? Is there a junior version of the Kinsey Scale? I suppose the best way to deal with him would be to get as many gay Scouts as possible to join his organisation just to see how he deals with them, especially those whose parents are lawyers.

“brownshirts” has a nice ring ot it, and it references the colour of the likely uniforms
