  1. These people really know no bounds. They really are the lowest of the low, scumbags, the lot of them.

Good on the little girl for raising the money too.

  2. “The church previously tweeted PinkNews to say that God sent the killers in the suspected terror killing in Woolwich, London, because the equal marriage bill passed its third reading in the House of Commons.

It previously thanked God for a lethal tornado that ripped through Moore, Oklahoma, leaving at least 24 people dead, saying it’s because of gay basketball player Jason Collins.”

Must be nice for them to have direct insight into the thoughts and motives of an imaginary creature.

    Wackos.

Also by tweeting PinkNews they clearly know where to get into print.

      1. It’s utterly absurd that Pink News is so easily manipulated by the Phelps family.

  3. These freaks (I don’t use the term lightly) thrive on the oxygen of publicity. Wouldn’t it be more effective to starve them of it?

    1. JesterPanda 20 Jun 2013, 3:20pm

Not yet it wouldn’t. These sub-humans are the best example we have for why equality enshrined in law is of absolute importance. Once that is done, then by all means, let these vile little things wither and die.

You have to admit, by their hyper extreme reactions to everything they’ve actually done a lot to support our cause, much to their chagrin I’m sure.

      1. Totally agree with you JesterPanda, the haters everywhere do us a lot of good. I’m just glad they haven’t figured that out yet.

      2. Wrong.

This is a family of 70 members.

The fact that websites like Pink News relentlessly advertises their extremism/ gaybashes its readership means that more moderate bigotry by other groups and people sounds more reasonable.

Pink News with its utter contempt for its own readership is enabling an environment where the most vicious extremism is given a voice and an audience.

        1. Totally disagree, Steve C. While what they say may inflame our own sensibilities – because we are being personally insulted – ordinary ‘believers’ and members of the public are becoming OUTRAGED – not only on our behalf but by the ‘insulting’ behaviour these cretins perpetrate in the name of religion against soldiers, victims of natural disasters, mass shooting of schoolkids, etc. They are percieved by even devout religious believers as ‘nut jobs’. The effect of this is to make people question their own ‘belief’. The more anti-gay, hate-filled and outrageous these people are, the better it is (in the long term) for our community. People are uncomfortable watching bullies in action. Sooner or later, the bully ALWAYS looses.

      3. I completely agree. These people are like the southern white racists who harassed blacks in the U.S. south in the 1960s. The news reels that captured those images turned the tide for civil rights in U.S.

Proof these vile creature should Never be around children.

  5. Now, imagine if we Americans allowed religion to have a voice in our government. Oh… wait… we do, they’re called Republicans; the group that can be bought and sold to anyone with a bigger bank account than themselves, like the National Rifle Association, most religions, and every medical insurance company.

  6. Ah, so they’ve moved on to abusing small children… how very, very, very unexpected for a Church to behave in this manner. *rolls eyes

  7. This repulsive ‘church’ couldn’t stoop any lower, could it.
This child has not been indoctrinated with hate, bigotry and intolerance. She is doing what is natural and instinctive. An innocent act of peace, love and trust.

  8. WBC are attention-whoring trolls. They act as outrageously and as invasively as possible just to keep the media from ignoring them.

  9. Shame on Pink News and Benjamin Cohen for advertising homophobic extremism.

Shame on Pink News and Benjamin Cohen for continuing to gaybash its readership with these utterly worthless stories about a family who only exist because they are promoted by websites like this.

Shame on Pink News and Benjamin Cohen’s for their contempt for their readership.

Shame on Joseph Patrick McCormick for putting his name to homophobic drivel like this.

  10. Is Ann Westboro Widdecome and here relatives scaring the children again.

They are just asking for a musical to be written about them.

  11. Is this not an example of ‘child abuse’? To attempt to terrorise a 5 year-old in this way leaves me speechless. These people are becoming wilder and more unpredictable by the day. They should be sectioned before someone gets hurt ……

  12. With typical fundamentalist bone-headedness, the WBC refers (‘cooling tongues’) to the story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16), where the rich man is punished in hell (his tongue won’t be cooled) for his lack of charity, not his beliefs or his failure to be homophobic.
Usual claptrap. Well done to the little girl and her family.

  13. The Westboro Wingnuts are so warped that if she’d lied and told them it was Jack Daniels neat they would have probably patted her on the head and said ‘good girl’!

  14. I rarely smile at any news about WBC,but I did so at the thought that it was “Pink” lemonade that outraged them. The fact that they were outraged by the 5 year old selling it for peace was lost on them… after all they blame killings. bombings and other disasters on their god, Vengeance even on this 5 year old child who was promoting peace, which is a more appropriate christian value.

I now humorously imagine over the summer heat wave across the US/Canada and else where we will see special days “PLAID” Pink Lemon AID Day! celebrated where where ever children sell pink lemonade to promote Peace and Equality and make a statement against WBC to protect their future.

    1. (the children’s future… not WBC!)

  15. reporting on them does serve a purpose. It illustrates the danger of religion. As they base all of their hatefull rantings on the bible it makes others who refer to the bible for guidance look stupid too, archbishop welby for example. Also, the LGBT centre was opened nextdoor to them to draw attention to their lunatic ravings. I think thats worked quite well

  16. A bunch of loopy wankers they are. These are turds that can never be polished and yet So-o-o-o difficult to flush. Their stench makes one clench and always lingers.

  17. why do 70 people et so much media attention – ignore them!!!!

    1. Ah! But these screwballs have done more to discredit organised religion than any catholic priest EVER could ….
If I believed in conspiracy theories, I would even speculate that the Westboro Wankers were being funded by someone with a PRO-GAY agenda.
They are SO vile and their views SO extreme, surely ordinary christians want to distance themselves from them?
So, I say, ‘Keep up the good work, Phelpssssss’.

  18. ” No fags! (Leviticus 18:22)”.”

Is there an official abridged Westboro Baptist version of the Bible? it must be a very slim edition if so, you could probably fit the whole thing on a pamphlet..

  19. What an absolute disgrace. This is a new low. I am totally disgusted by these people. Time America put a stop to this hate group. BAN THEM NOW!!!! Imagine telling a 5 YEAR OLD she will burn in hell. She is a child for God’s sake. She was doing a GOOD thing. Makes me so angry.

  20. Pup Lightning 22 Jun 2013, 9:36pm

Why is the mainstream media giving Westboro any publicity at all???

    1. Could it be to discredit ALL organised religion? These Westboro people are SO vile and SO outrageous, ordinary believers must want to distance themselves from them …? I know if I belonged to a middle-of-the-road political party and its leadership appeared to have ‘flipped’ mentally, I’d probably want to find myself another party to support …..

  21. poor little girl :'(
