I understand that these charges were upheld on appeal. However, what happened to the perpetrators, and by extension, what penalties did Scotland Yard receive?

This gentleman’s actions are to be commended and lauded since he not only conspicuously addressed the injustices he encountered but also gave voice to others who have remained intimidated and silenced by the Met

  2. Most cops are vermin (no offence). The fact you actually managed to issue successful lawsuit over police racism means it must have been particularly unpleasant. I wish you the best of luck with this. Not that this government gives a toss about homophobia or racism.

What a disgusting situation for anyone to be in. I hope this gets the attention of the Commons and rightly so.

To digress…I’m sick and tired too of so called ‘christians’ complaining about work-place discrimination in the public sector. They don’t know what real discrimination is about until they’ve walked for a day in our shoes just like Kevin Maxwell. Religion is a choice, sexual orientation isn’t. Religious nutters choose to draw attention to themselves by refusing to do the job they are paid to do. It’s not discrimination. If everyone refused to do their job in any other environment, there would be no workforce. I’m sure all of us have experienced something very unpleasant that we don’t wish to do but we do it because that’s our job and our livelihood, like it or not.

  4. Though there are some very well meaning people in the police force, my experience leaves me to not trust them to stand behind me. Internally they are a catty and bickering bunch of twits.

  5. We reported a homophobic attack to the police last year, and they came to our house and physically attacked us. I was left with bruises all over. They laughed and left and would not even let us take their badge numbers. IPCC had four differing statements, but did nothing

In Canada, the famed RCMP is currently facing charges over discrimination and offenses towards women members. In the states, the military faces similar charges.

Oh, but str8 men are supposed to be leaders and worthy of love and respect…. nothing but a bunch of power-hungry elitists. When they’ve eliminated the obvious competition, they turn on each other.

Tell me again why they shouldn’t be separated from the rest of society and shunned…

  7. I’ve been banging on about this for years. They are racist and homophobic but just got craftier in hiding it. They’ll be all smiles at Pride – but many of them will be seeting inside.

  8. I have reported homophobic abuse in the past to the police as well as a domestic abuse incident which took place across from a police station. They were not interested on both occasions.

  9. …Is anyone genuinely surprised by this?

It’s times like these when I thank God that our sadistic police force don’t have guns like they do in most countries, can you imagine what it would be like if these racist homophobic scum were given guns?!
