US pro-equality group the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), has put up a sign to welcome anti-equality protesters, including the fiercely anti-gay Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality.

LaBarbera is expected to be leading the rally at the HRC head office in Washington DC today, and the HRC put up a sign saying “welcome Peter”, as well as saying it anticipated protesters.

The tweet used the hashtag #callitout, in reference to “anti-lgbt lies”.

Americans for Truth about Homosexuality describes itself as “dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda”.

Back in April, LaBarbera spoke out against the Boy Scouts of America’s (BSA) announcement that it might lift its ban on gay members, but retain its ban on gay scout leaders, to say it would be “dangerous”, and would “homosexualize” the organisation

He previously weighed in on the debate about equal marriage, commenting on a TIME magazine cover featuring a gay kiss, and calling it a “perversion”.

He also previously appeared on the Janet Mefferd Christian radio show, and said that “gay activists” are “the most intolerant people on the planet”, and that they are “up there with the jihadists”.
