  1. Who?

No fan of this loud-mouthed hussy in the slightest, but oh boy is she right on cue with her observation that the self-serving, money-grubbing, celeb-toadying GLAAD extremists who profess to speak for us all have nothing better to do other than “picking and choosing when to be offended.”

    1. Midnighter 3 Jun 2013, 2:14pm

I still struggle to see where you are coming from with this one. Have you any actual examples of
      1) GLAAD not responding to potential offence when you believe they should have or
      2) GLAAD responding to offence when you believe they should not

Please explain why in each case we should disagree with GLAADs position.

For extra credit, see if you can manage to keep your response relevant to the above points and within the space of one comment box this time ;-)

      1. Well I think the fact that they did not call out Amanda Bynes when she used the same words in an insulting way says a lot about them.

        1. Midnighter 3 Jun 2013, 2:52pm

LoL there are rather bigger fish to fry, don’t you think? In that instance there is hardly a lack of condemnation of that individual from other (and higher profile) personalities, and one whose life is generally viewed as being in a state of meltdown by those that have even heard of her. I suggest that if a decision had been actively made to criticise her, it might have been viewed as malicious given her state of mind which is something erstwhile friends have publicly expressed concern about:

Aside from what we can speculate, absence of knowledge of GLAAD’s reasons is not evidence that they didn’t have any. Your argument is a fallacious “argument from silence”. If you know what their reasons are THEN you might legitimately criticise them for a bad decision. If there is a statistical picture of consistently ignoring legitimate opportunities, that might be convincing.

“GLAAD responding to offence when you believe they should not”

        Oh pur-leeeaaase, where to start?

I suppose the most knee-jerk hysterical reaction was when they had the impudence to hold the producers of Glee to account for their use of the word “tranny”.

Now that takes some beating, but you know as well as I do that GLAAD needs to be seen to be getting a bee in their bonnet over something or other on a daily basis in order to justify the pleading poverty letters it sends out ad nauseum to its honorary donors (ie: mugs by any other name) each year come come hail, rain or shine.

And I’ve seen the desperate lengths they resort to with their begging tactics as an LA-based philanthropist I know who donates to many gay causes used to be deluged by them:- until he decided “Enough!” and told them in no uncertain terms he was terminating his annual five-figure donation, and with it their unsavoury sense of entitlement to his money.

        GLAAD = self-appointed, self-serving careerists.

        1. This seems like such a non-story to me. ‘Mediocre rapper criticises glaad’. Big deal.

The real story was her use of homophobic slurs and defense that she is bisexual, but that all happened ages ago. Yes, glaad should be consistent in their approach to dealing with such incidents but they’re not omnipotent!

Call me cynical but this just sounds like a PR stunt by an artist who’s struggled to produce anything worthwhile since her debut.

        2. Midnighter 3 Jun 2013, 5:29pm

So you have an issue with them criticising Glee for the use of that word .. why exactly?

And an example using an entity we are to take your word on even exists – looks like a case of ‘false attribution’ to me.

One as yet unexplained “reason” – not exactly a persuasive case, Sam.

    2. SHE’S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT !!!
#1 Why does everyone forget…that Azealia is a PROUD BI-SEXUAL WOMAN HERSELF & APART OF THE LGTB COMMUNITY?
#2 WHY does everyone forget…that Perez HIMSELF has called other ppl “faggot” too?
The GLADD organization turned MORE global attention to Azealia’s conversation with Perez Hilton ( who ALSO called other ppl “faggot” ) but NO global attention to the ppl of Uganda who are now legally able to be KILLED to be homosexual / LGBT ppl.
WHAT WORLDLY IMPORTANCE DOES A BI – SEXUAL RAPPER WHO CALLING ANOTHER HOMOSEXUAL PEREZ, WHO HIMSELF ALSO CALLED SOMEONE A “FAGGOT”….HAVE IN COMPARISON WITH A COUNTRY WHO IS PASSING A LAW TO KILL OR THROW HOMOSEXUAL PEOPLE IN PRISON FOR LIFE JUST FOR BEING HOMOSEXUAL?
WHY DID THEY NOT CRITICIZE CHRIS BROWN WHEN HE BEAT UP FRANK OCEAN AND CALLED FRANK A “FAGGOT”?
OR MANY OTHER CELEBS WHO SAY WORSE HOMOSEXUAL OFFENSES?
Everyone blaming Azealia but she always has a good point.
Look at the evidence & STOP being dumb, hypocrites ppl.

      1. friday jones 4 Jun 2013, 11:14pm

Perez Hilton is a gay man, and he can use the F word all he wants. Azealia Banks is a black woman, and she can use the N word any time she wants. People who are part of the group can recalaim words if they choose to try.

But a black woman, bisexual or not, has no more right to use the F word than a white man has to use the N word. What Banks did was NOT cool.

  3. This is the homophobe that lady gaga is working with. When will she disappear into oblivion? stupid creature.

    1. AZEALIA IS 100% BISEXUAL….JUST LIKE GAGA…SO WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT?

      1. friday jones 4 Jun 2013, 11:19pm

She has a bajina instead of a benis, so she doesn’t get to call gay dudes a name that sometimes means a bundle of sticks. That’s not HER word to use. Bisexual people should NOT use slurs against LG or T people, any more than we should use slurs like “Wannabee” against them. Oh those poor bi people, what with their straight privileges and their straight marriages, how can they stand such a cruel world?

  4. Midnighter 3 Jun 2013, 2:07pm

None of which bluster changes the fact that she’s made her homophobic attitudes clear.

Another bigot claiming the ‘victim’ card because their intolerance is not tolerated by others.

    1. And when Perez Hilton, Chris Brown and so many others use the F word… GLADD NEVER attack those celebs…but everyone gets to pick on Azealia (a BI-SEXUAL WOMAN ) when she speaks right? Makes no sense.
How can you be a “homophobe”…when YOU are apart of the LGTB community yourself & have many LGBT friends like Azealia does?
All you ppl here are more ignorant than you claim Azealia to be.
NO ONE EVER ATTACKED PEREZ WHEN HE USED THE WORD FAGGOT…BUT WHEN SOMEONE CALLS HIM THAT THEY GET ATTACKED?
      Idiots.

      1. friday jones 4 Jun 2013, 11:21pm

Tell you what: The day I see Azealia Banks in a Fisting Bottom Demo, I’ll believe her “I’m bisexual” line. Until then, I bet her main claim to being LGBT is that she made out with a chick once when she was really high. :p

  5. Liam the God 3 Jun 2013, 2:09pm

I wondered when we’d hear about her again. Album sales must not be up to expectations.

    1. Exactly what I was thinking. Nothing like a bit of free publicity.

  6. and you’re an ignorant bitch Azealia Banks with no audible singing voice so sling ya hook you worthless piece of shyte!

    1. No audible singing voice?
      Have you heard “Valerie”?

  7. Tom Cotner 3 Jun 2013, 2:41pm

Good grief, woman — get a life!!

  8. Dex (@MrDexB) 3 Jun 2013, 2:47pm

Nobody cares about you anymore. Bye bye.

  9. Am I the only one who thinks she’s just extremely immature? The “don’t tell me what to do” attitude is a dead giveaway. She’s immature and this is the best way she can think of to get attention. She thinks being rude and disrespectful to people is cool.

  10. She must have a point-she’s a rapper:-)

Rappers seem to be the new gurus.

  11. She is a vile, talentless hag!

  12. Christopher Coleman 3 Jun 2013, 4:01pm

Another black rapper happy to express opinions publicly, secure in the belief that no one will dare say anything in response that might be taken for racist and, in this instance, sexist. Well, people might; and unless the comments are very obviously insulting, chances are she might lack the intelligence to understand them. Have to admit I’d never heard of her, but then there’s no reason I ever should.

    1. What the hell has colour got to do with any of this?

  13. I just don’t like rappers full stop. Call themselves artists yet most just seem to sample other people’s music and class themselves as talented, its more like fraud in my mind! Anyway who is this woman, silly bint.

  14. SHE’S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT !!!
The GLADD organization turned MORE global attention to Azealia’s conversation with Perez Hilton ( who ALSO called someone else a “faggot” ) but NO global attention to the ppl of Uganda who are now legally able to be KILLED to be homosexual / LGBT ppl.
WHAT WORLDLY IMPORTANCE DOES A BI – SEXUAL RAPPER WHO CALLING ANOTHER HOMOSEXUAL PEREZ, WHO HIMSELF ALSO CALLED SOMEONE A “FAGGOT”….HAVE IN COMPARSION WITH A COUNTRY WHO IS PASSING A LAW TO KILL OR THROW HOMOSEUXAL PEOPLE IN PRISON FOR LIFE FOR BEING GAY???
WHY DID THEY NOT CRITICE CHRIS BROWN WHEN HE BEAT UP FRANK OCEAN AND CALLED FRANK A “FAGGOT”???
WHY DID THEY NOT CRITISICE PEREZ HIMSELF WHEN HE CALLED WILL.I.AM A FAGGOT?
Everyone mad at Azealia but she ALWAYS has a good point.
THEY BRING NO WORLDLY ATTENTION TO REAL IMPORTANT ISSUES !!!
They need to either attack EVERYONE who uses that word or bring more global attention to IMPORTANT events.
Azealia as a LGTB person is only standing up for herself here.

    1. friday jones 4 Jun 2013, 11:23pm

No, she’s an ugly tourist in LGBTland who likes to insult the natives.
