  1. The ‘marriage is for the creation of children’ argument is really starting to get old… Especially when it’s from some 400 year old woman who definitely won’t be bearing children any time soon…

    1. ‘it’s from some 400 year old woman who definitely won’t be bearing children any time soon’

Thank heavens for that, we have enough bigots, already we don’t want them breeding more!

Thank heavens for that, we have enough bigots already and don’t need them to breed any more!

  2. A lot of the arguments are plain prejudiced.

      As expected !

  3. Considering ‘marriage’ as a being defined by procreation only is plain wrong. So when a guy proposes to a woman, he’s not really saying “I love you and I consider you my greatest friend and life companion”, but “I want to f**k you for the rest of my life”?!!!! What about marriages where either of the sides cannot conceive because of medical reasons? What about people who get married when they are 60? What about asexual couples?! What about hetero couples who decide to adopt a kid instead of giving birth to one?Tell them their marriage is not real!…

    1. It’s not even, “I want to f**k you for the rest of my life,” but , “I want you to have my babies. That’s it.” Non-procreative sex is wrong, don’t you know. Unless we’re talking about those evil poor people, in which case they’re not allowed to have babies at all because it might eat into the welfare budget.

  4. Equal marriage would INTRODUCE DISCRIMINATION?!!!! ADULTERY??!!! What is this man talking about??!!!

  5. Keeping the bill the same, but changing ‘marriage’ to ‘spousal’ is highly homophobic.
Also, calling young generation and their ‘open-mindness’ as ‘being indifferent’ is very offensive and disrespectful.

  6. BECAUSE of African churches. Goosebumps :)

    Who was he??

  7. awww some of this is incredibly moving. can’t cope!!

I can’t believe the age of some the peers looking at the benches. Hardly a cross section of society are they.

  9. I have a good feeling about the vote

  10. 2/3rds majority to kill the amendment. Dear looks an ass now!

    Teeheehee
