It will pass though eventually. Opposition to same sex marriage is concentrated among the elderly and the religious. With the passage of time , elderly opposition will dissipate through death while many religious people are coming to the conclusion that gay marriage is not a threat.

“This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me.”

    Always keeping to the motto.

Terribly sad news. They will have to double their efforts for the next time. And then, hopefully, they will have the benefit of a good SCOTUS outcome to help.

That is problem!! It could have influenced the decision to make it more broad but now it is just a missed opportunity

  5. So, they couldn’t pass a vote on marrying the one you love…
BUT, they could pass being able to carry a conceled deadly weapon whilst having a McDonalds….

    Only in America!!!

  6. In other words…
YOU cannot get married – it is against MY religion.

Politics, fellow readers, politics. In all its glory and inglorious ways, this is high drama played out before us.

The Supreme Court watches and key members look for signs; this inaction is a wild card that has consequence.

I would think we may see how it plays later this month in Washington D.C.

  8. 60% majority and we couldn’t get it through, I wonder why.
