Actress Amanda Bynes has attacked openly gay former NSync member Lance Bass on Twitter, saying he is an “ugly ex boy band member with no talent or career”.

Bass, who is now known as an entertainer and producer, came out as gay in 2006.

The Easy A actress tweeted the former NSync star, to say that he claimed she had a “mental illness”, before saying “Sorry you’re an ugly ex boy band member w/ no talent or career”.

She later tweeted to say that she hadn’t spoken to Bass in some time, and that he had made her want to “lash out”.

Bass refuted the tweets, saying he thought Bynes wasn’t behind the abusive messages, as he didn’t believe she would tweet him that.

After Bynes’ second message, Bass tweeted again to say that he had seen her at his birthday party three years prior, and that he had filmed with her seven years before, so her tweet to say she hadn’t seen him in eleven years was false.

The tweets from Bynes came from an account which has over 1.5 million followers, but is not verified as the star, however it does appear to be a genuine account.

The account has also been used to tweet semi-naked pictures of Bynes, who was also involved in a controversy recently, when she sent messages to Rihanna to say “Chris brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough.”

Bynes has since tweeted a photoshopped image of herself and Rihanna saying: “I love Rihanna, she’s such a beauty”.

Bass recently spoke out about an alleged incident during which Chris Brown called Frank Ocean a “faggot”, and said the R&B star should face jail as the “only way to” be rehabilitated.

He also commented on Rihanna’s former relationship with Brown, saying: “I hope Rihanna understands what she is in,” he said. “I see it happen so many times in couples, where it’s like an abusive relationship and you don’t know it’s an abusive relationship.

In 2010, Lance Bass admitted that he used to join in with teasing gay kids at school to hide his own sexuality.
