  1. So why hasn’t Spielberg ever done a film with or about LGBT people?

    1. Actualy he did. The Colour Purple. Since the 1980s he has been a strong ally.

      1. Well that’s a good film but the lesbian content of the movie was barely noticeable – especially in comparison to the source book.

I certainly hope it will NOT be edited! We are all adults here. If people do not want to see certain parts of the film, then they can close their eyes when they come up.
Come on, folks! It is the 21st century.

Totally agree. Speaking as someone who has zero sexual interest in the female form, if lovemaking in a love story is not appropriate why do we have to put up with vast tracts of hetero nookie at the least excuse in other works?

  3. Nooooooo, I wanna see the UNedited version!!!!

  4. I sincerely hope it will not be edited or in any way redacted – that would be a travastey.
I for one, want to see the film AS IT WAS when it won the Palme d’Or.

  5. What a great compliment. A must see obviously. I can hardly argue with Steven.

Yes, and so it should be, why should we be stereotyped from birth to love a person of the opposite sex. We understand that the forthcoming movie of ‘Behind the Candleabra’, is not being shown in cinemas in the USA, although has been shown on US tv, but is only being issued on DVD in the UK. Why ?

  7. I can’t wait to see it, I hope it isn’t edited.

The film is actually based on a book called Bleu est un couleur chaud (blue is a warm colour)

It’s in French, but if there are any French speakers amongst you it’s a must read.
