  1. He keeps making these bold claims that equal marriage is damaging to society and yet he can’t back up his claims.

He is a hateful, vile homophobe, pure and simple.

    1. Conveniently forgets xtianity justified slavery as per the bible, mass murdered Jews (holocaust) & 10 million muslims in xtian crusades

These people dont / cant think logically because xtianity is the sky fairy of power & money, biggest business on earth & biggest cause of mass murder in history.

We need to end religious freedom so we can prosecute it under the Racketeering acts

Selling insurance policies against death based on stories about one man thousands of years old, written and re-rewritten etc etc

From an age of stuperstition and ignorance.

BTW if you have had military training think about how the marching and chanting and following orders or else (fireing squad etc is so similar to

Praying – repeating the same BS over and over, and doing it in fear of going to hell o r otherwise do as your told and death isnt death.

( eg in our military like the Marine corp, they tell the troops that as long as the marine corp exists, you live even if your dead.

  2. This man clearly doesn’t think logically.

    1. He wants people not to think of him as hateful – then he says a whole load of hateful things.

    2. He subscribes to the idea that equal marriage will somehow inevitably lead to lowering the age of consent. (Does he think, for example, that new regulations on nutritional standards in schools will lead to eating babies?) It does not follow.

Apart from these absurd ‘predictions’ he provides no actual evidence of how equal marriage will damage anything.

And if he thinks gays getting married is the biggest challenge to Northern Ireland right now he is deluded.

  3. Midnighter 27 May 2013, 7:23pm

” Society is made up largely by people who begat marriage to begat family to begat society. ”
And then the homos came along and spoiled it all, right?

There is more to history than your book of iron age fairy tales, you buffoon. If you were to open your eyes and to look for it, you would find gay men and women who shaped society and in many cases created civilisations.

    1. Beelzeebub 27 May 2013, 7:57pm

Indeed. My heterosexual parents begat me. A 47 year old gay GP.

How does that factor into your psychotically unbalanced biblical equation Mr bigot pig ignorant Paisley.

    2. Midnighter 27 May 2013, 8:53pm

I forgot to point out that I believe “begat” is also incorrectly used as it is the past tense. He should have said “beget”. At risk of being ye olde grammar nazi.

    3. In any event, arguably society begat marriage, not the other way round.

      1. Beelzeebub 28 May 2013, 8:58am

        Exactly.

They always rabbit on about marriage as if it were some tangible unchangeable object handed to them by their deity.

Its a bloody man made construct. Nothing more.

  4. Mark von Fistenberg 27 May 2013, 7:23pm

The only ones I consider ‘damaging to society’ as well as ‘terrible pains in the ass’ (without even touching you), are such brainless selfish bastards, of which species Ian Paisley Jr. apparently is a demonstrating to be a nearly better than perfect illustration.

  5. Commander Thor 27 May 2013, 7:25pm

    Another swivel-eyed religious loon then…

  6. …And there’s me thinking over the last few days that it was religious extremism posing a significantly damaging change to society.

  7. Helge Vladimir Tiller 27 May 2013, 7:30pm

Yet another chance to throw up ! How many accusations do we have to listen to before these inhuman judges keep their phantasies to themselves. Shut up !

  8. The human personification of C4M?

  9. He hates homosexuals, I hate homophobes. My hatred is caused by his hate, whereas his hate is caused by his own bigotry.

  10. nixiotemba 27 May 2013, 8:03pm

he is right about euthanasia coming, its about time, I’am so glad I live in the Netherlands

    1. GingerlyColors 27 May 2013, 9:18pm

Euthanasia is the subject of a separate debate. I personally feel that legalizing euthanasia will open up a very dangerous Pandora’s Box as people will pressurize the sick, elderly and disabled to end their lives so they can collect the inheritance and save money in caring for these people. You may argue that there will be safeguards but these will end up being eroded.

      1. I disagree, if I am in pain or unable to perform basic activities of daily life unaided I do not want to be here. I resent the fact that society (esp religion) implies that my life is not my own. I have worked Intensive care for nearly 25 years so am no stranger to dealing with death. A well managed system for legal euthanasia with rock solid safeguards should not pose a problem to anyone other than meddling religious types who love to impose thier nonsense on the rest of us… But that is another debate..

  11. Bill Cameron 27 May 2013, 8:03pm

Bigots don’t like it when they are called out on their bigotry. He doesn’t like being thought of as ‘hateful’, but very sadly he is.

His case has a direct parallel in Cardinal Keith O’Brien, who objected strongly to being named a ‘homophobe’, but we now know just how justified and accurate that description was/is.

It may, just perhaps, be a coincidence that both of these gentlemen hail from Northern Ireland, albeit from opposing sides of the religious divide there.

This is not an anti-Irish remark, by the way, just an observation. It so happens that I am part-Irish myself, a grandfather was from the southern part of the island.

  12. David Jordan 27 May 2013, 8:08pm

Paisley needs to whip up a storm in NI about same-sex marriage to draw voters attention away from his utter inability to revitalize the NI economy.
He’s a cynical hate monger, just like his father.
Marriage equality will help marriage to protect more families and more kinds of family.

    1. YES-and how many companies will be reluctant to locate in N Ireland due to this man’s intrasigence regarding equal rights? Indeed can you tell me how it would be even possible for a company with an equal opportunities policy to re locate to N Ireland?

      1. they wat to have people be ignorant and poor. Desperate people do desperate things, eg listen to loons lie this one

BTW another nut case Jeebusser is Harold camping (whose prob camp anyway)

He’s the guy who keeps calculating when jeebus will return and keeps saying he made a mistake when the bones dont come out of the ground in another virgin rebirth.

But the crook has taken in fools of ther money for about $100, 000,000$US with his BS and xtian radio station cabal.

these bloody female vulvas should be burned at the stake.

  13. Robert in S. Kensington 27 May 2013, 8:14pm

Paisley needs remedial English. It’s beget, not begat which is the past tense and would imply that procreation used to happen but no longer. Stupidly ignorant delusional religious loon, just like his dimwitted father.

  14. He wants to stop being portrayed as a ”hateful person”? Well there’s a pretty simple solution to that – stop being hateful.

  15. You’d hope that after the public humiliation this loon was subjected to on QuestionTime last Thursday, he would adjust his thoughts and change his attitude.

But, no, his type stick to their prejudices as if they are to get an endurance award for doing so.

They’re basically driven by a persecution and martyr complex. But that’s a very Northern Irish characteristic, for historical reasons.

  16. He wants to distance himself from being seen as hateful whilst still being hateful. This is what happens to your brain when its full of Jesus.

    1. he need to eat a laxitive – his brain is overstuffed wth poop

solve his problems – jeeebus and the stench once its flusfhed to the sewer

Sound like he’s het westboro baptist churhch of GBr.

  17. That There Other David 27 May 2013, 8:52pm

Fire and Brimstone, Brimstone and Fire. You’re all going to Hell. Only the Saved will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blah blah blah Presbyterian nonsense blah blah blah. Head it all before Paisley. This is why Northern Ireland, out of all the regions of the UK, is in by far the worst mess. Your party’s policies are making sure it stays a backwater. Still, at least you’re all on the path to Rigtheousness….

I’m sure I just heard the sound of a cash register ringing….

  18. I do worry about the LGBT youth who have to hear this nonsense and what it does to their self-esteem…

However there is also a part of me that thinks that his irrational and twisted logic only helps to serve our overall cause of equality because it tars all people on that side of the debate as deranged loons.

  19. Felipe_o9@hotmail.com 27 May 2013, 9:00pm

Of course it is, we all know how decadent and ruined societies that already approved same-sex marriage like Netherlands, Sweden and Norway are.

  20. GingerlyColors 27 May 2013, 9:20pm

I wonder if the proposed TV ban on hate preachers will apply to the likes of Ian Paisley Jnr. We all got fed up of listening to his dad’s big gob over the years and we don’t want to listen to him either.

    1. It always seemed ironic to me that of the two, they banned Adams’ from being heard and let the self-appointed “reverend” drone on and on and on … spittle flying everywhere, little piggy cheeks jiggling with his venom.

  21. casparthegood 27 May 2013, 9:23pm

A lovely Ulster phrase just about covers this : “His heads full of wee motors” Never has it been more appropriate a description of a politician.

  22. But what would you expect from him and his father, and all the people that they represent? These are scum landstealers who occupy and divide a neighbouring country, while claiming to be loyal to this one. They are the lowest of the low.

    1. Michael126 28 May 2013, 9:03am

Adam – You obviously know nothing about Northern Ireland so how dare you tar us all with the same brush. Please keep your vile biggoted comments to yourself. You and Mr Paisley both!!!!!

      1. Anything you say, deluded land stealer. Why don’t you move back to mainland Britain if you want to serve the queen, and give Ireland back to the real Irish?

        1. Michael 126 28 May 2013, 12:18pm

I stole nobody’s land idiot. I was born here. I couldn’t help that. People like you need to get educated. Moron.

    2. Dáinéil Ó hIomhair 28 May 2013, 1:47pm

Ironically in the rest of Ireland the support for same-sex marriage accounts to more than 70%. Many unionists unfortunately for themselves have made themselves out as quaky religious fundamentalists who regularly make racist and homophobic comments and even attack minorities. Nationalists, on the other hand, are definitely more tolerant I suppose being victims of abuse in their own country for decades. Sinn Féin, for example, strongly supports LGBT rights.

  23. Refrain
    Jesus’ love is very wonderful
    Jesus’ love is very wonderful,
    Jesus’ love is very wonderful,
    Oh, wonderful love!

It’s so high you can’t get over it,
So low you can’t get under it,
So wide you can’t get round it,
    Oh, wonderful love!

    Refrain

So deep you can’t go through it,
So long you can’t see the end of it,
So strong you can’t resist it,
    Oh, wonderful love!

    Refrain

So bright you have to see it,
So loud you have to hear it,
So sweet you have to taste it,
    Oh, wonderful love!

    1. That There Other David 28 May 2013, 1:50pm

LOL. Chances of that being played in any church Paisley has been in are rather slight.

  24. Listening to this man’s incoherent ramblings, Oscar Wilde comes into my mind: “There is no sin except stupidity”…

    1. ...a talent to abuse. 28 May 2013, 5:03pm

There should be more quotes on this site from Saint Oscar especially when they are so apt. Salutations Peter M.

  25. Just the name makes one cringe!

First generation… Second generation… both from the same mold, hate and intolerance. If there is a third generation I’d bet it is hereditary!

  26. Those gay and lesbian marriages will cause the downfall of civilization! Wait a second, from an article about the 2011 Canadian census, following 5 years of marriage equality after the 2006 census…

“But Statistics Canada also reveals that despite the change [from 7,500 to 21,015 married same sex-couples], same-sex married couples represent just 0.3 per cent of all Canadian couples.” http://www.canada.com/Census+Canada+families+shifting+away+from+marriage+common+same+couples+increasing/7265308/story.html

  27. NI isn’t going to have SSM so butt out of the marriage laws of England and Wales.

I’m sick of the DUP MPs intererring in something that doesn’t even affect NI

Why the people of NI elect a bunch of religious bigots is beyond me. They just sound like illogical ,brainless , scaremongering, over the top idiots.

    1. Beelzeebub 28 May 2013, 9:03am

Be mindful that this religious goon is only where he is due to nepotism.

    2. Dáinéil Ó hIomhair 28 May 2013, 1:50pm

It used to be much worse though. Ever since the Good Friday Agreement they’ve had to share power with Nationalists who are definitely more progressive in terms of gay rights. Unionists have much less power than they used to, which is a good thing!

    3. You seem to forget that there are LGBTs living in Northern Ireland who don’t elect “a bunch of religious bigots”. I suppose we don’t matter though – out of sight, out of mind, eh John? According to you “NI isn’t going to have SSM” – that’s your judgement is it? No hope for NI lesbian and gay people? I suppose it doesn’t matter though to you, just as long as L&G people in England and Wales are sorted. Thanks for your concern.

  28. Conveniently forgets xtianity justified slavery as per the bible, mass murdered Jews (holocaust) & 10 million muslims in xtian crusades

  29. On the other hand 28 May 2013, 10:08am

What makes a homophobe? I just read this elsewhere:

“Raja and Stokes (1998) mention the various correlates of homophobia: individuals who hold authoritarian beliefs and emphasize adherence to authority over individual freedom; sexual conservatism; religious fundamentalism; negative attitudes toward women and African Americans – sexism and racism. “

    1. Bling Crosby 28 May 2013, 5:10pm

Yup! I don’t like any people who have the characteristics that you mention. It’s a shame there seems to be so many of them around.

  30. On the other hand 28 May 2013, 10:12am

    Homophobia damages society.

  31. This site is too depressing I doubt I’ll be back.

    goodbye all

    1. ...a talent to abuse. 28 May 2013, 5:14pm

You will be missed. Please reconsider your decision. There aren’t enough idiotic posts on this site.

  32. Looks like another phobe making the same old noise.

  33. Carl_era@yahoo.com 28 May 2013, 1:14pm

How can anyone take him seriously, he is the product of bigot that would make Mugabe look like a pussy cat. He comes from a place where sectarian and religious violence is an everyday occurrence and he is part of that problem. Why anyone would seek out his twisted opinion on ANYTHING is beyond me. Northern Ireland typifies religion, it is divisive, tribal, controlling, corrupt and ultimately destructive.. Interestingly the most religious places on earth are the most violent… Think about it..

  34. He is his fathers son……a total moron and an ass who does not think but regurgitates what his dear old dad says which is total sh1te rubisco you are right he does not think because to think you need a brain and he clearly does not have one…..
