    That’s of course if the SCOTUS doesn’t strike down all the state bans first. Things are going to massively slow down in the US if this needs to be done state by state.

    Well done for starting the ball rolling though.

      It depends on how each state can put matters to a referendum. In Nevada it has to be done by this torturous route but in Oregon for example it can be done by collecting signatures and I believe they are in the process of doing that there.

      Of course the other problem would be whether or not the governor also has to OK this. If he does then Sandoval, a Republican, could well veto any referendum effort. The Republicans were only keen on referenda over this issue when they thought they would always win. After Maine, Maryland and Washington last November they’ve suddenly become less sure about letting the people decide.
