  1. Is there anyone who actually takes these jokers seriously?

Stop enabling these bloody idiots. Stop breathlessly reporting their every word. Stop participating in their hate-mongering grift

    Just stop it.

  2. Well Said Valky.

Why are they even allowed to be on twitter, surely it breaches the terms or something. Its pure hate and should not be tolerated esp online. Take away there media platform and see how they do then

  3. Is pink news sponsored by them now?

Do yourself the honour of charging if they want an advert – don’t give it for free.

Please stop pretending their feeble rantings are news.

  4. PLEASE STOP POSTING THESE ‘STORIES’

Seriously, they got old after the 3,985th one you posted.

  5. I concur with others, this reporting is getting extremely tiresome. The Westboro Baptist Church is a small sect taken seriously by almost no-one. This is self-perpetuating “news” – their proclamations are not news in themself, they only become news because you choose to make it so.

When there are organisations (be they businesses, campaign groups, charities, religious groups etc.) or prominent individuals who come out with venomous stuff, it’s good for us to know about that because their words can affect people’s lives. But the WBC is just interested in generating publicity, if the media ignore them then they will have no reach whatsoever.

So please, please PinkNews, stop being WBC-enablers.

  6. There’s a crazy homeless guy at the intersection of two main streets in Montreal who spouts all sorts of racist, homophobic, vile, garbage… why doesn’t Pink news talk about that?

because honestly, the WBC is EXACTLY like that homeless guy: not worth the energy.

They are basically the “one crazy homeless guy” equivalent of religious denominations. They will, and DO, say absolutely anything that will get them attention. They don’t even have to believe it. It just has to be incredibly offensive.

So why give them a soapbox?

never heard such kak in my life. I go to church and have read both old and new testament bibles, to me it preaches love and tolerance. NOT ‘go be-head an innocent’. any religion which encourage’s such violence isn’t a religion, its a self interest group who need stamping out! end of rant!

    1. really?! your sacred fable-book is FULL of barbarism in the name a supposed supreme-being! wtf?!

    2. Really? Have you really read those books? Me thinks not if you think they are about love and tolerance. These are some of my favourite passages to show how stupid the bible is, but there are plenty more…

“When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again.”
      Exodus 21: 7-8

“Slaves, be subject to your masters with all reverence, not only to those who are good and equitable but also to those who are perverse.”
      1 Peter 2:18

“If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.”
      Deuteronomy 25:11-1

  8. When the members of this “church” eventually pass from this earth, they will be in for a huge surprize. These and those like them do err greatly in the fixed belief that being gay by default is automatically deemed as spiritually bankrupt. To those that wrecklessly Judge: There will be some men of the cloth that will be cast down and some of whom you least expect allowed up. For what is inside the heart mind and soul of an individual has nothing to do with one’s sexual orientation.

  9. ah, what it is to be so mired in religion! so unable to keep your creepy-love of the supposed supreme being to yourself, that you need to produce vile posters to make your weird family and your tiny church the centre of attention!! keep up the good work and soon we will all be rid of your sacred fable-book, as the good people just turn away!

my condolences to lee rigby’s family.

LoL I think we’re being trolled by the PN team now. Of course if we all ignored them, the stories would rapidly sink off the “popular” and “discussed” listings never to be seen again ;-)

  11. I like reading the WBC stories, they remind me how stupid christiians can be. When I read them I just sit here with my mouth open, shocked at how few braincells a human being can have. Then I laugh at them.

  12. Please please PLEASE pink news stop giving these evil people the oxygen of publicity.

  13. Well, I say one thing. They are keeping the printing businesses going with all their dross. Even if home made banners, the inks etc must cost a fortune!

  14. It’s high time that Pink NEWS realised that it doesn’t have to report every single thing that moves, only that which is sufficiently worthwhile to merit our attention.

There are some occasions when we might need to know (rather than want to know) what hate speech our enemies are spouting. However, this isn’t one of them.

You’ll just have to accept that, following the third reading of the SSM bill, there will be some days with few real news stories.

Unlike the RCC, CofE etc, the WBC isn’t even a real church, just a handful of extended family members.

By gleefully reporting each and every extreme outburst in loving detail, complete with posters and photos, you are positively encouraging them.

Such needless publicity can only worsen the utterly unimaginable distress that Lee Rigby’s family must be suffering.

I would expect the Mail or Telegraph to endorse these rabble rousing creeps with free publicity, but I have far higher expectations of PN.

    Please, JUST STOP.

  15. I’m going to add my voice to the others’ – PN, it really is time you adopted a policy of not reporting these nutters’ vacuous dribblings. They are not worth the attention you give them.

  16. Up next: Pope is found to be catholic. Also shock and awe as it’s confirmed that bears defacate in the woods.

Perhaps it would be better to just ignore them till they go away?

  17. Spanner1960 24 May 2013, 9:13am

Virtually every remark on here refers to PNs reporting, rather than the farcical story itself. Will Benjamin Cohen or somebody else from PN please make a comment regarding this. It’s readers have mad it patently obvious:

    NO MORE WESTBORO STORIES!
(unless by some divine intervention they all get struck down by a lightning bolt on a clear Summer’s day.)

  18. Think what you want about Christianity, but these people are not Christian and do not represent any true loving Christian. Sorry for any offence they have caused.

  19. please please please, do not just call those westboro morons ‘us church’ that lumps them in with so many churches that stand against everything they are for. call them the westboro people or something but don’t lump them in with all.

  20. PN please stop even wasting bits in memory on these nut cases

Simply photoshop a bunch of them, naked in a zoo, the males separaed from the females

and have a hungry tiger licking its chops waiting to do something really good for humanity
