  1. Also means that another little bit of South America (French Guiana) has marriage equality! 4 Jurisdictions out of 13 in S.A have marriage equality – 3 in the last month!!!!

    And… Vive la France!

And yet (British) Guyana still criminalises homosexuality.

    2. And our beloved and now total gay heroin Christiane Taubira, the Justice Minister who so brilliantly fought for the bill throughout Parliamentary sessions is from… French Guyana. She saved the day for her fellow leftist MPs from the Caribbean, half of whom voted against the bill. Shame on them.

  2. Actually France is number 15. Brazil’s National Judicial Council in effect extended marriage equality throughout Brazil last week when it ruled that registrars cannot refuse marriage licences to same-sex couples anywhere in the country.

  3. President Hollande kept his word and upheld his promise. Congratulations!

Vive la France! What a contrast to miserable Abbott and Gillard in Australia. We will be the last to get marriage equality I bet.

  5. Hourra!

Viva la France! Sadly what a contrast to Australia’s mean and nasty politicians , especially the so called leaders Gillard and Abbott. We will be the last country to get marriage equality, after North Korea, probably.

  7. Signed and now law – well done France!

    Next is the United Kingdom!

  8. The article is (partially) wrong ! François Hollande didn’t sign the law last friday (late october 2013) but mid may 2013, perhaps on a friday…
