  1. Well I supposed we ranked higher than prostitutes in her eyes but maybe she should have been reminded that there are those that consider (heterosexual) marriage as nothing more than legal prostitution. I myself am all for prostitution and prostitutes having the same rights as everyone else.

However, I don’t get the bit about nail biters. Were they considered a bit like left handers back then – minions of the devil – or is it a euphimism? I ask this as one who bites his nails (literally) and not sure whether I am supposed to be offended by this comment, and if so, to what extent…lol.

  2. i don’t know her reference, but it’s interesting to me that ancient Persian religion considered people who don’t dispose of their nails properly and gays as both going to hell.

    1. I am guessing that hell by now is standing room only

  3. A movie I’ll want to see.

  4. I hope they don’t paint her a victim. The bad things that happened in her life were totally brought on by her own actions.

Isn’t she credited as being the person that invented the “gay agenda”? Though what she may have meant by that in the 1970s is probably different to what the religious extremists mean by it today.

  6. Dagnabit!

Couldn’t this part have gone to Andrea Williams?

Which after all would require a whole lot less acting…

  7. In the late ’70′s a friend of mine memorably described her as ‘Mary Whitehouse gone wild.’
It would at least have been healthy if she’d stuck to orange juice.
She was a contemptible liar and hate-monger whose brief ascendancy showed how crazy the American God-bothering constituency was – and is. I saw her interviewed about a year ago and she was as mad as ever. She even claimed that American liberties were inspired by the Bible. It is clear that, like most of her co-religionists, she has never read much of her Holy Book.

  8. I remember her at her most vicious and homophobic.
I think she was responsible for my high blood pressure in the 70′s. ;)

well well well .. why do we need this .. one movie that will be on my dont view list .. I lived it dont need to see it as a made for tv movie … and why would gay men get involved with her anyway ..
she hasnt changed and never will ..

    1. Agreed. I have absolutely zero interest in seeing a bio-flick about a hate-monger, if that doesn’t include some sort of redemption at the end.. and Bryant NEVER rejected or apologized for all of her hate-filled rhetoric.

  10. Why make a movie about this vile bitch – who would go and see it?

  11. Good. I don’t remember the last time Uma Thurman played an evil villain (the Bride was more of a anti-hero).

  12. “As a mother, I know that homosexuals cannot biologically reproduce children; therefore, they must recruit our children.” – You have to give her credit, this one was quite inventive, not that I don’t think she’s a horrible excuse for a human being, but this definitely goes on my list of “Class A Bullsh*t.
