  1. Congrats Minnesota!
Great day for justice and equality in the state. And such a contrast to where the state was heading towards just eighteen months ago. Kind of similar to what happened in Maine, too.

Listened to the event via Minnesota Public Radio. What struck me were times speakers referenced (G)od and support for BGLT (alphabetical, why not?) people in one breath.

To that still good, progressive religious conviction that also exists in communities of faith, I will only add, “Amen!” Good on you, Minnesotans.

Well done Minnesota! You have made another advance for equality. I only wish we could bring some of that to Australia, now languishing behind the rest of the world in marriage equality.

  4. Great news! But surely one pen would have been enough?

You get the “formal” bill on your desk when you are Governor and need to sign the bill in seven places on the ORIGINAL and CERTIFIED bill actually!!!!

Signed into law means it is now part of the federal/state Statute book!!!

Vetoed means you send the bill back to the legislature, the legislature can do nothing or OVERRIDE the veto after a certain amount of votes (such as 2/3rds or 3/5ths majority).

Also a Governor can do NOTHING and the bill AUTOMATICALLY becomes lawor statute – only after a certain amount of days (not including weekends)…

That is why there are so many pens. Also notice that Obama signs with his left hand!?

I would love to be Governor hopefully one day too!

When I am Governor, the FIRST ACT I want is two hot male US Marines guarding me all the time!!!!!

    Signed and done!

If I was the Governor too, I will sign the bill into law right way – the very second moment it is on my desk!!!!

No ifs and no buts – we deserve full equality in marriage!!!

My country Australia is a total joke and laughing stock now, ever since Brazil has joined in on the same-sex marriage list by a vote of 11 to 2 called the justice commissioners of Brazil just now!!!!!

The very month of may is truly Mary for marriage equality!!!!!!

Next week the UK parliament will vote on both the reporting stage and third reading in the House of Commons!!!!!

The SCOTUS making a decision on both Proposition 8 and DOMA in 39 days from now too!

    We are making progress people…

Australian politicians are too rich to care about all Australians during the budget and the rest of us gays and also – on the other hand Australia being the only western nation to still continue to ban SSM is really on the planet Neptune!
